Rarest figure?

The other night I was musing to a friend about the Fort Max reissue. I was trying to get him to understand the appeal, which failed. But then the conversation went on to a discussion about the rarest TF out there...

I say it's G1 Roadfire. What say you, fellow nerds?

I think it's that repaint of that little dragon mini-con that they only made like ten of and they sell for thousands in the rare cases where someone actually sells one.

Or what about G2 Breakdown? Green Unicron?

The green Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Ramulus is pretty rare as is the blue Optimus Minor.

Some of the early Beast Wars Botcon figures are pretty rare too (low production numbers).

And then of course there's the Lucky Draw figures. Some of those are pretty rare.

I'll have to concur with the G2 BotCon Exclusive Breakdown Action Master. That booger looks like a world full of awesome.

Now I don't have that much Action Master experience, but I must say. That thing looks horrible. I think I've only seen pictures of the packaging for it up to now. In my younger days I liked to have rare figures for the express purpose of their rarity, and this AM would have certainly fit that mindset. No way would I look at that thing and be happy.

I think it should go away.

Technically speaking, that Action Master G2 Breakdown, is a knock-off, made when BotCon was unofficial; Hasbro has the Official Transformers Collectors' Convention back then in 2004. :-B

I wasn't referring to the Action Master, which was an unapproved knock-off not made by Has/Tak. I was referring to this:

Oops. My mind is mush today.

I remembered some sort of BotCon Exclusive Breakdown that was rare. I thought it was an Action Master...but it's this:

Retail transformer? No idea.

Any official transformer? I'll say the chrome coloured 2007 leader prime. Only 2 are in existance.

What about that horrific-looking Unicron from the 80s? Or does that not count because it never made it to retail?

That guy on the SyFy show was a damn fool parting ways with this gem. I wouldn't have given a sh*t about what the host thought, she'd have no chance to con my ass into parting ways with that let alone the majority of my collection. Which wouldn't happen either... :P :VEHI:

If it would ever hit Ebay- would it end in an insane bidding frenzy? I'd say 'YES' and watch it like normal people would watch a sports-match.

It is not "horrific-looking" it's GLORIOUS and the coolest transformer i've ever seen in my entire life i'll have you know. I sure wish that it did see retail release.

I'd kill to have that holy grail. Kill lots of things. Well i wouldn't actually kill anything for it but you get the idea.
But at least two official unreleased figures actually exist. So i believe it still counts as a rare figure in this thread. In fact i think it should be the next mold in the MP line :P

SO awesome.

Absolutely. I forgot all about him, that goes to show just how rare he is. In fact, I think the only other figures I can think of that might rival his rarity would be just about every Movie Bumblebee from the various films. You couldn't find those suckers ANYWHERE.

I remember during the movie days thinking to myself that if only I could find Bumblebee and buy like 90,000 of them my collection would be complete. Hasbro really missed the boat on that one. They could have made a truckload of cash off of me if only they had released more Bumblebees.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to return to the Shattered Glass universe where I belong :P.

This was the Prime I was talking about.

Apparently owned by some TF2005 member. He owns the only 2 in existence.

Speaking of Bumblebees, there is also a chrome silver DOTM one. I think there are close to 10 in existence... This was a lucky draw prize for the 1st 10 people who turned up for the DOTM midnight toy launch in Asia (14 may). In retrospect, I should have brought 10 of my friends and sat there from the afternoon.

Yes, it is.

Looks like a mutilated bowling-ball. I will give props to the engineers for the effort.

 yes it is ugly but that's why i like it.

Rha had made a good point. It would be awesome if this Unicron mold was released as an Encore. I wonder if Takara would ever seriously look at it? I know i'd buy it.
