Regarding the possibility of a TF 4

The thing is, I do believe there will be one, simply because the movie made billions of dollars, but regardless of who directs it, it can still turn out to be a pointless mess up of continuity, any other thoughts?

Well, everyone's thoughts on the 4th movie are all over this forum, but...

I believe if there's a 4th film under a new director and new writers (though I hope Kruger comes back, he did really well; but the bar wasn't set high for him) it might be more oriented towards the actual Transformers, as the main story of them arriving and interacting with humans has already been set up. Also, I think that because DotM was more of a TF-centric story is the reason it made so much money. It ceased to be a generic alien invasion story and became an actual Transformers story. So if there is a 4th film, I'd like to see new Decepticon leaders (Overlord or Thunderwing FTW) and Grimlock and Rodimus at least on the Autobot side. Yeah, I also believe there will be another made, simply because the money is too good. Even if it's a flop, Paramount will have made out like bandits.

I think they announced another trilogy actually but that could be rumors...I personally think it'd dumb that they killed Shockwave off, but it's not like they're lacking options on other decepticon leaders (bludgeon, thunderwing, overlord...hell, ratbat :P) Personally if bay is actually done, this could mean we finally get a live action Grimlock...now imagine how brutal he'll be especially compared to how OP was in the first three.

That would be nice. If they wrote him right.

Would Simon Furman make a good writer for the next script?

Well, if nothing else, it would guarantee ONE Dinobot (Grimlock) and a big bad who isn't Megatron (Thunderwing).

Personally, I'd rather not, though.

Personally, I think we ALL would like to see a Prequel sometime sooner, rather than later. But if there is a Transformers 4, and I believe there will be, I really hope they center the film more on the Transformers and not about the Characters, like they have with Sam Witwicky and his Girlfriend(s). I'd also like to see some new Bots like Wheeljack, Bulkhead, etc.

It's been a fun five years of movie-mania, but I'm just done with it to be honest. It can come back in another half decade or so.. but leave it be for now.

It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. Hasbro obviously is going to want to do more movies and new post on the forum and around the net have shown that. The thing is, Michael Bay wants to take some time and do some low budget story driven movies. He has his money from these three movies and his production company that did the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street remakes. So he's not in need of money and can take the time to do what he wants. So even though Hasbro may want him back, their reality may just be that they will have to go with someone else. Which leads to a problem. There are directors out there who can take over this franchise and maybe even surpass what Bay has done. The problem is that Hasbro wants to put out a movie and they want to do so because it helps with the sales for the Transformers toy line. We have to hope that with them wanting to put something out that they don't rush to put something out and we end up with something really sub par.

I think they should take some time, maybe a year or two, and decide if they want to continue where Bay left off or reboot. Then from there get some good writers who are good with sci fi, action, and the fantastical. Get a solid script and then find a director who can best bring it to life.

Also, since Sam's story has already been told, if the 4th movie isn't a reboot I think it should take place in the future. Not far in the future. Maybe just 20 or 30 years. Maybe the world is a better place. The Autobots have a place in our society and more Autobots have come from space to make Earth home, or maybe even colonized the moon. They've shared some of their tech with us. Maybe we learn from them and try to keep what happened on Cybertron from happening here. There's peace, it takes work but there's peace. Then one day at some space monitoring center, readings come in of a small city sized craft approaching the Earth and it's giving off energon readings. I'll leave it at that.

Eh, I don't know if I'd jump that far ahead...especially if there's to be another big automaker deal to do it, because going 20 to 30 would probably require the use of a substantial number of concept cars, none of which (if any) would be available to the public that quickly. Personally, I'd stick with 15 years, which IMO would be more manageable since cars as they are now haven't changed all that much externally in the past decade-and-a-half as it is.

I was only putting out a number. The main thing it should be after the damage that was in Chicago has been repaired and what lies after that.
