Reverse Universe Contest?

The Autocons and Deceptibots! I know it's a new idea, but it seems to be well received, so why not have a contest. How about some fan art of Optimus and Megatron Reverse Style. Whoever wins gets a custom Alt Repaint from me. You choose which toy and who to repaint it as. I would love to make the winner, but don't know if I could. If someone wants to do this instead of a simple repaintbot from me, let me know. I'd be willing to pay for a Bash of the winning Pics if it doesn't kill my pocket book. If someone can help me out with the details of holding a contest or let me know if this is OK, that would be great. Let's see what happens, maybe Pat Lee will help us out.

Hmm.. Y'know, I like this contest idea, though you might want to elaborate more on what you want to be submitted and what exactly you intend to give as a price?
Let me try to summarise it, ok?

Inversed Roles Contest:
summary
-You must submit fan-artwork depicting heroic deceptibot Megatron or vile autocon Optimus Prime, basically the inverse of their roles as autobots/decepticons.
-The winner gets to choose as a prize from either a custom repaint of an alternator, their entry kitbashed orperchance a kitbash of choice if their entry would cost too much to KB.
question
-Why limit it to these two leaders?
An inversed Starscream or Blaster might be just as neat, eh?

As for on how to host the contest, maybe these tips will help:

Decide on the rules beforehand:
-Make a minimum/maximum picture size limit.
-Decide on who/what group will be judging the entries.
-Mention that the contest follows the forum rules.
-Be sure to post a picture of Reverse Convoy/Megatron so people don't send in artwork of that toy by acident.
-Set a time-limit, preferrably let the contest run along for some 3 weeks.
-Take no more then a week after the contest ends to conclude judging.
-Remind people that one person=one entry and no more.

Decide on the Prize-budget:
-Decide how much you would be willing/able to spend on the purchase of the Alternator/kitbash.
-Do some research on the costs of Alternators/base bodies and then make a mention on which bots/cons would be too expensive to KB or even repaint.
-Make mention of earlier kitbashes by your hand, so people can look these up if they like.
-Offer an option for a gift certificate(to some TF selling online store.(not all live in the u.s. of a.)) in case the winner really doesn't want a kb/repaint yet did enter the contest.

Other things to consider:
-Whomever does the judging cannot enter the contest, so ask them before starting.
-Consider purchasing a set of custom heads.
-To save money, consider these quality BT-Ko's, you can find them in this ebay shop.
-Consider refraining from allowing only handpainted/drawn entries, not all have scanners.
-Last, but not least, consider making an image-header for your contest, text-alone contests seem to be less popular.

to help offset cost i could help in the cash department a little for whoever does a bash(personally i would rather have a bash of the character than a straight repaint)

I don't feel I have the skills yet to undertake a reverse Megs or Optimus that somebody drew. I know I can do a nice repaint with head exchange. And as for cost, the slight difference between Alternator prices wouldn't matter to me. It would be up to whoever won to choose and one prize may be 10 or 20 dollars more than the other, but if that's the one the winner wants I am willing to comply.
I have no idea how much interest there will be in this contest. I was just thinking how fun it would be and I'm willing to pay a little to see it done. It's like a dream (that wasn't even mine to begin with) coming to fruition. I think there definitely should be a comic line started, that's why I joked about having Pat Lee help us out, since he's out of a job and all.
The whole contest rules and regs and judging thing. I don't know if I can handle all that. I can barely find my way around transtopia. If someone wants to take over that would be great. The only thing I ask is to be a judge. If not... well I guess I'll have to. This Will happen even if only 2 people enter. Of course I need TFMaster's permission first I think.
More later.

Don't worry, it's easier then it looks to hold the contest, but to adress your worries:
You can always comission a skilled KB-er to make the prize and of course you could indeed contact the administration to have the contest hosted on an official level.

If all else fails though I'd be willing to help with the organisation of the contest, though I could not aid with the prizes as I'm a somewhat poor bugger who has to keep some money aside for the 3 b-days to buy gifts for this month.
I'd rather like to enter the contest, but considering my shaky drawing skills I guess I wouldn't stand a chance in any case. :P

If I'm judging the contest, and I make up the guidelines, and I think I should, then the drawings would not be judged on how pretty they are, but on how nice the idea is and how good it would look in toy and comic form. The idea is the most important not the quality of Picture. 8)

Been REALLY busy lately. Have barely had time for customizing.
I've seen alot of good bots/ideas recently and I would like to get this thing rolling, but October is my busiest month. Anybody want to be a judge? I think 3-5 would be good. To keep it simple for now, Reverse Optimus and Reverse Megatron would be enough. Any era, any version. Drawings, hand or computer. I've heard reference to Reverse Convoy. An actual takara toy? This doesn't matter to me. This will be an original contest for our own enjoyment and a special prize to the winner! The prize. This is Transtopia, it will be a custom. More later...

waiting on transitions to Siebertron and such. Probably next year sometime. I kind of put it on the back burner. keep working on your ideas and we'll get this thing rolling as soon as we are assimilated.
