And he'll be using a bike in the new movie, instead of his trusty ol' Ford Taurus. Or pink pimp mobile, if you remember 3. I think that's an improvement, even if the bike looks like they just repainted Judge Dredd's bike to black. But that suit...ugh.

I really don't understand why such a drastic change in the suit. Robocop should look like Robocop! I'd have had no idea who this is supposed to be if I hadn't been reading threads about it.
You wouldn't remake/reboot say for example a Predator movie and completely change the look of the Yautja Predator species. Slight changes or a homage to the original would be cool, but this just looks generic. Show this suit to anyone who has seen any of the Robocop movies/series and does not follow what's happening on boards etc they wouldn't have a clue who/what this was supposed to be

Bad example, because they did. Watch Predators, and wait for one of the New Preds to take their mask off. Their faces are much more insectoid.

It's a remake, not a copy.

As I said you wouldn't completely change it, just update it.

Which they did. They streamlined the armor and darkened the color. Not a whole lot you can do with the original Robocop design, it's pretty nondescript as far as armor goes.

Not to mention that this actually looks like armour and not some steroided out weight lifter parody.

No, the point of it is to be satire. Trying to look all cool and sleek goes against the spirit of it unless it's only so that they may include lots of cheesy and shallow marketing slogans etc.

Right, it was a satire of '80s movies and style. You might notice it's currently not the '80s. Ergo, if they aren't going to play it straight (Which most people don't realize the original didn't) then it's most likely going to be a satire of modern movies and style.
