To be honest, I'm kind of mixed on this whole thing. I don't like that they changed his design, but that does look pretty sweet. Maybe if they used that for like a bad guy version of Robocop. But I don't think that should be Robocop himself.

Yes and no. As far as percentages go, it made back something like 1.12% of its budget, which is amazingly miniscule. Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist and A Troll in Central Park both made back a smaller percentage (0.84% and 0.3% in that order) but both cost less than half of Oogieloves. Zyzzyx Road, an indie film starring Kathrine Heigl, had a budget of about $1.2million, and had a box office draw of $30. Not thirty-million-dollars, thirty dollars total. Mars Needs Moms has the highest net loss, of over $136 million dollars. basically, it all depends on how you want to measure it.

That said, the Robocop remake being a cinematic fail is just Roddy jumping the gun because he doesn't like the new armor design.

Yes, maybe I should have specified. I didn't mean a fail financially (which I think it will be) but a FAIL creatively, or at least costume design wise. That thing is hideous.

Well we haven't seen the finished product yet. It's a wonder what they can do with cgi nowadays.
Wrestling is just a male soap opera, though less believable.

I have to disagree I really like both of the designs I've seen so far.

I'm actually digging the new robocop. Kind of Iron Man-esque. I think Robocop has a large enough fan base to at least make a financial success.
And besides, everyone knows the Transformers trilogy is collectively the biggest cinematic flop, right? :michaelbay:

Commercially, all three are in the top 50 highest-grossing movies of all time. (DOTM itself earned just slightly less than the entire Indiana Jones trilogy combined, not counting Crystal Skull, but who does?) Critically, their Rotten Tomatoes scores (57%, 20%, 35%, in that order) average out to about 37%, which is bad, but far from the worst. (Alone in the Dark has a stellar 1%) So it kind of balances out for them. Critically disappointing, but far from the worst, but they made enough money off of it that they can afford to not care what the critics think.
