Wait a minute... are the ^ supposed to represent exponents?

If so, then:

y=3(x+10)(x^2-100)

y=3x+3(10)(x^2-100)

y=3x+30(x^2+(-100))

y+3x+x^2-70

I have no clue how the rest goes. That's my Algebra brain going crazy.

y=(3x+30)(x^2-100)
y= 3x(x^2-100) + 30(x^2-100)
y= 3x^3 - 300x + 30x^2 - 3000
y= 3x^3 + 30x^2 - 300x - 3000
the derivative of this is y' = 3*3x^(3-1) + 2*30x^(2-1) - 1*300x^(1-1) = 9x^2 + 60x - 300
