im not sure why people are so happy about a rumor of two toys -one being arcee as a pink and white futuristic car no less- being canceled. the animated line is over anyway, at least for a good year while the movie stuff is on shelves.
everything else is out, and though if this is true finding waspinator, samurai prowl, and wreck gar will be tortuous they are on some shelves.
speaking of things being on the shelves, dose anyone else have a feeling it may have really been universe? hotshot was the only new mold left right so as soon as he ships the line would be over until classics 3.0 right?
im just hoping no new molds get canceled and both current lines can go on after the movie stuff runs its course. animated deserves some season 3 toys and universe deserves umm probably everything else hasbro can fit in. (and paint right :-x)

I know, I know people like it but around here where I live even little kids HATE it!!! They think it looks to kidish and rather have Bakugan or the Universe line.. The crap just sits on the shelfs.. Now Universe is a different story.. They should have based a whole TV cartoon series on the remake of G1 and used the Universe/ Classic line. Would have been a lot better! I don't know what kids Hasbro test this stuff on but they sure are the wrong ones..

pfft...who cares about the brats? i love animated! and far as i'm concern season 3 will be f-ing epic for all animated fans. as for the toys, a friend says shes not canceled- hasbro cut the wave in 2 so shes in a new wave with maby othere figures

Ok, they are cancelling a line with a decent cartoon(until IT was cancelled) and a pretty good following. Personally, I think the Star Wars Cross over and the Marvel Crossovers are complete crap.

As far as sales, one week my local Wally World has nada on the shelves...next week it was packed. Animated may not be flying off shelves with the economy, and I'm sure the price raise didn't help at all, but they seem to be selling.

If it's true, gonna take it as an opportunity to snag these IF they go on clearance. It is a shame we will not be getting Omega though.

So is the toyline cancelled, or postponed until after the movie?

I just received my email from Hasbro UK, and although after reading the (legal) footnote I'm guessing I cannot reveal the exact details of it's content, I can say that I am fairly confident the Animated line will continue...

B-)
He's got some pretty far-out powers to go along with them, too, including teleportation, the projection of trippy telepathic visions and illusions, and the ability to groove on the language of 98% of all known species. I said it earlier and I'll say it again-IF this is true, it's probably not a decision Hasbro wanted to make. Hasbro has invested a lot of time and working capital in developing and manufacturing the Animated TV show and toyline. I guarantee you that IF this rumor is true, cancelling it is not something they're pleased about.

But in the wake of the huge economic downturn, having 3-4 lines out at the same time just doesn't make sense, especially when the movie is such a huge investment for Hasbro and especially since a lot of the buzz over the show has died down.

IF this is all true, don't waste your time calling Hasbro. A couple dozen or hundred calls from us unfortunately won't amount to much. Go out and buy every Animated figure you see-everywhere. That, and then some, is what could actually make a little difference right now because Hasbro's not currently worried about public opinion, they're worried about sales, the bottom line, and about survival in a hostile retail environment.

And finally, let's be honest, the G1 show was only on for what, 4 seasons or less, and those last episodes were not of the same quality (IMO) than the earlier ones. I'd rather see them end the show on a high note then keep pushing it and watch the level of quality have a huge drop-off.

I am the toy department supervisor at my walmart, and i chated with my district supervisor on this issue, heres what he had to say:

Walmart is doing this because of what happened with the first movie line, they underestimated its pulling value, and there were suits filed by perents unable to find movie bumblebee. thats why when animated came out, they over ordered it, so they could stockpile them in massive quantities and have an ample supply at christmas. this is also why I am still recieving some wave 1 figures. They are doing the same for the ROTF line, and want to empty the distibution centers to do so.

What this means for the final waves of animated, is...

not much. the cancelation does not effect what is already in the main distribution centers, nor what is already in transit to or from them. If the final wave is already there, or on the way, then we should see arcee and soundblaster (thats what im calling him) tricle down eventualy, but dont expect to see a very widespread release of them. big money walmart supercenters might be the only ones that get them, depending on whats already in the distribution centers.

honestly, i think this tactic is stupid. sure, we had plenty at christmas, but that just makes shelfwarmers.

Damn...Im not a big fan of animated (never ever seen an episode) but I did buy a selected few because I own their G1 originals.

I was exicted to see Sunstorm and was hoping this line would relese all the seekers in retail unlike the other lines :(

That's really not a surprise, either. People can and will sue for anything in the states here.

yes, people are realy that freaking stupid. same thing with the awful brats dolls. the black girl from the brats comes in her own case, because people sued wal mart for being racist when they couldnt find the black one.

dont you wish sometimes you had the legal right... no.. you were OBLIGATED to beat the tar out of someone with a baseball bat for being a moron?

it isn't true, I'm bound by legal footnote to say nothing further however...

I think the character is Red Alert, but with an aesthetic based on this fair transtector:

http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Minerva

Incidentally, I'd love to quote my email from Hasbro UK but I'm afraid Agent Simmons will come along and unsettle my day.

This looks more like a decision of those stores than a blanket effect so far. I don't think Hasbro plans to cancel the line itself until after the series is actually finished, if the other rumors about no season 4 are true.

Just a couple of stores prematurely dropping carrying it to make way for different shelf warmers. ;p

NOTE: I'm just speaking of the animated line. I just got back from target and walmart in st louis, the people in the toys dept told me they have plently of the blurr wave . The pegs were completely full, but they canceled shipments of voyagers due to lack of sales. At target I asked when the sunstorm and shock wave were being put on shelves , the reply was close to easter. At walmart I asked about samuri prowl and waspinator they also told me easter. I guess they need to sell of what they have by easter. As far as movie figs go the target guy said due to the size and price of the devastator set they may put that above the peg boards and hang a sign to ask for help to get down, they had problems with the huge melliemum falcons.

A legal footnote doesn't mean they can't or won't cancel anything.

I'm not saying the information you have isn't accurate or won't be true, I'm just saying that what a company writes as a legal footnote days or weeks ago that was written by an attorney weeks or months ago and the decisions they make today can be completely different things, especially in this down economy.

waspinator and prowl are out, i got them at target 2 days ago and walmart has had them for over a week.

when stuff is sold out it goes to the last page and says out of stock. im not even sure these two figures were even available yet i think they had a ship date still.
