Your telling me, I live in New Zealand so I think you can imagine what I get stung for shipping from the states.

But to give credit when it's due when BBTS has a sale they are pretty good, 20/50% off items you want is awesome.

$100US for a reissue the came out at $40 a couple of years ago?!

What a joke, BBTS just mashes it's fat sweaty palm on the keypad to come up with some of it's rediculous prices I think.

You and me both. Yes, they're dependable. Yes, for the most part they're trustworthy.

But their pricing is ridiculous, the Pile Of Loot is just another way to make more money off of you, and their shipping issues. Part of the reason they raised their prices was due to flat rate shipping just killing their wallets. Well, now that it's been abolished in favor of a much more expensive set of services that don't provide quite the same quality...the prices of the items themselves should be dropping like rocks.

Plus, I purchased a figure from one of their clearance sales back in 2005, and it said nothing about the level of quality. Just what the item was, and how much.

So I order, it arrives, and it turns out the box had not only been opened, but it had been smashed in a slight bit. No, I'm not a box collector, and yes I'll be throwing the packaging out, but it's the principle of it, you know? At least tell me up front that I paid this price for a damaged package and that I'm not the first to open it (which is part of the thrill to it all for me.)

I didn't return it because it would end up being more hassle than it was worth, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

A friend of mine used one of their clearances as well and he also received a damaged package, though his was much much worse. He ordered the E-Hobby Insecticons, and the plastic bubble was ripped so bad, one of them was coming out, and partially taped into the box. (Now you know UPS didn't do that, the carton was still sealed from the moment BBTS shipped it. Because their "Fragile Do Not Drop" orange stickers were still on the seams.)

It's a shame, because they are generally honest, and they are 100% dependable, but with the clearance sale items, shipping costs going through the roof, and prices of the items themselves....it's just not worth it.

Especially when places like Digital Toys are still quite affordable, completely dependable, and 100% honest.

Picked up a D-012 Scourge ( repaint of Laser Prime ) in a substandard box. I was opening the box and did not care. But the box looked great so I wonder what was the surprise I picked up for $60 2 years ago - yes... this was before I shopped around. The chrome off of the truck was mostly gone for a MISB. Yes, not their fault as I assume it came off over time by itself but I was still surprised. Last year I picked up an 1984 Optimus prime...someone's played with it and all and it was stored in an attic. The chrome was better on that than the MISB Scourge.

You get what you order. Have to wait for sales to come close to a good price.

I looked at my bank account and it looks like it's been charged for the amount. It has not posted though. I have not received a shipping confirmation either. Anybody else gotten one?

Same here, I ordered yesterday around 2PM. Haven't received any updates by email or on my account at walmart.com

Has anyone else ordered? Could you check your accounts to see if it has been shipped/charged?

Something screwy with the shipping cost. I preordered 2 of the Ultimate Bumblebees from them each weighing 3 lbs for a total of 6 lbs and the shipping is only $8.94 Standard Shipping. The shipping for the Ultra Magnus is $9 more eventhough it's at the same weight....unless the dimention of the package is considered...but even that 2 ultimate Bumblebees would be in a bigger box than one Ultra Magnus (even if it's a MP).

:D :D Okay, case closed. So much for the excitement. It's just the 2000 G1 Magnus reissue

According to Tryphonus from the Allspark:
"Allright here is the scoop. I called Hasbro and had the reps there reseach this item. This is what she told me. That is the Toys R Us Ultra Magnus from back in 2000. She told me that there is no listing in Hasbro's system that this product has been manufactured or is being manufactured or even shipped from Hasbro. She told me that this maybe the Walmart internet selling this which is why the price is so high. It may be something they have been sitting on and with the hype of the movie decided to sell them now. She also told me that they can actually sell this at that high of a price since it did not come from Hasbro directly. Hope this helps and If you have the Toys R us Magnus then don't waist the time and money."

I just don't get it. Why would Walmart do this? Have they ever done anything like this in the past before? This seems so odd to me that they would charge this much and misinform the packaging info...

i ordered this a couple of days ago but also wanted to get to the bottom of things so gave hasbro a call today.

funny when a sexy sounding lady asks, "g1, energon, or cybertron, baby~" ok, she didn't say the 'baby' part, but she did sound sexy, hahaha. but that was her response when i inquired about ultramag. i gave her the low-down about the walmart thing and she looked up the site as we spoke. her reaction when she found the link was almost fan-like:

"this can't be! g1 magnus is no longer in production, the next closest thing was the commemorative reissue, which was exclusive to TRU and that was priced at around thirty dollars. i can't find anything in the system regarding any Ultra Magnuss that were shipped to walmart. wow, this is just so bizarre! hang on a minute."

at this point, i was put on hold while she apparently referenced something or someone -

"i honestly don't know what to tell you. oh wow, it's heavy and the shipping box is huge.. this is just getting weirder and weirder. i don't know what to tell you.. i'm seriously stumped, and i'm sorry to say this, but i can't help you out..."

i then asked, "you think it could be masterpiece magnus?"

she responded, "no.. you think? no way, (laugh)."

but anyway, i chopped it up with her for a quick sec all the while mouthing to my co-workers (this is so cool! this is so cool!) and really, she was uber cool to talk to. i was shocked that she knew her stuff, and when asked, she told me that she was into transformers before working there (A/S/L? jk lol).

on another note, i asked about release dates for the 2nd wave of movie related TFs, and she said any day now. so we should start seeing them filter into our local stores pretty soon. also, she said TRU soundwave is still going strong and that there aren't any immediate plans to stop production (woot!)

so here's hoping for the best! (crosses fingers)

TRU Soundwave, is still going? Thought we missed it. I wish It'd get here. For being master of an Information Superhighway, He seems to be taking The backwoods way to Indy, and hittin every pothole along the way...

OK guys and gals...I took the plunge and ordered one "just in case" it was MP Magnus... ALAS, I dont think so. It just shipped out and should be here Monday, BUT on UPS tracking it says 2 pounds!!! Something isnt right here... I wouldnt think that UPS is wrong, so I am pissed that Walmart is charging $17 to ship when it should cost 1/4th of that. If it gets here and it isn't MP, then it's going straight to the store for a REFUND!!!

I don't like that they're doing this at $90. I mean, it's a reissue, damnit. Hasbro didn't even pull this for Pepsi Prime. Matter of fact they ask half what I paid for it's Japanese counterpart at hasbrotoyshop.com (not that it's available to buy there at the moment). More than half, if you count shipping from Hong Kong. I'm happy they've reissued G1 Ultra Magnus again, but $90 for it? Damn good thing I bought it back when TRU had it; they didn't charge nearly that much, did they? I can't remember.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.
