Win some, lose some. You can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. If you love something, set it free. Pick your favourite hackneyed phrase and apply it to the practice of selling certain Transformers from your collection to finance newer or more expensive ones, or just changing the guard. Some collectors are fortunate enough to be able to just add to their collections, but a fair few must sacrifice certain items, sub-lines or whole categories of toys in order to streamline, re-focus or even continue their collecting. This week I look at a few of the toy-lines I’ve had to let go of in order to carry on.

Wow, you and I should have gotten together and swapped figures! All the stuff you sold is the stuff I would have kept, and vice versa.

I've been thinking about selling off most of my movie-verse figures. Now that I've got all my classics-verse figures on display in glass cases, I've realized I have no desire to display my movie-verse figures, other than a few exceptions (like Leaders). Even if I wanted to change up my display, I'd change it over to Animated, Prime, or Unicron trilogy before I'd change it over to movie-verse, so what's the point in keeping them in storage if they're never going to see the light of day?

But then another part of me says "Keep them, maybe you'll have a son/daughter/niece/nephew one day who will inherit your hobby, and wouldn't it be awesome to be able to give him/her two big tubs full of figures?"
