Taking out higher levels has almost always been rewarded in scalp hunts. That was introduced to offset the fact that those who were a higher level, almost always played more. If you're looking for a scoring system, you could always go with the 1 for lower, 2 for same, 3 for higher. It's simple and not much of a headache. If you want to give the lower guys a chance, a 1, 3, 5 system would probably be the best bet. It's simple, and it's a better reward for taking down higher levels.
Other scoring methods could be 1 point for a 0, 2 for a 1, 3 for a 2 and so on. It doesn't favor the low end guys, and instead favors the high end.
Or, for a headache while tallying the score, sliding scores, where your level is worth X, and each level below you is worth 1 point less per level, or a fractional point per level. I wouldn't honestly recommend the last 3, since they would be a pain in the ass to tally or just unfair.
I wasn't going to quote you and say you said anything. An idea was mentioned, I thought it was a bad idea, I said why I thought so.
I would offer to post something in Iacon about this, but since I'm currently a prisoner of the cons pending my brainwashing being completed, I'd recommend Zordon or EP.
