Scotty P's Collection Thread!

Hey everyone, I thought I would share my collection with you. Most of my collection (nearly 2600 TFs, depending on how you count 'em) fits in one room. It took about 9 months and countless hours to get it all sorted - basically everything was stored loose in cardboard boxes through the years with no organization by line and parts EVERYWHERE. I enjoyed the whole process immensely, and oddly, look forward to doing it again in a few years (though hopefully that'll be the last time!)

Speaking of parts, huge, huge thanks to Counterpunch and Razorclaw0000 for helping me sort through missiles a couple weeks ago!

Now, on to some pictures! Fair warning: there are a ton.

First, the shots of the whole thing on a macro-level:

That, sir, is a vast, nay, epic collection. I dread to think how long it took to position all of them, let alone how long you spent accruing them. I usually don't care for MOC stuff on display but the RID spychangers look so cool displayed like that. Event the Rescue Bots look great. Once I have had the chance to lie down, I will probably think of more superlatives to describe this, but for now 'awesome' will have to do. I wish I had a room like that

Thanks for the kind words :)

The RiD Spychangers on card were kind of an accident. I ended up, through buying lots, etc., having a complete collection of loose RiD Spychangers along with about 5 of the Tiny Tins, so I figured shoot, why not complete the Tiny Tins as well. Never opened them because I have the other, main releases loose. Figured they'd display well on card. I have very, very little sealed card stuff, most of the stuff I still have sealed is boxed.

wow... very nice!
what are you going to do about the dust problem?
I wish dust didn't exist, it's a pain to keep them clean after a while...

but good job on organizing all of them! 8)

Thanks for looking!

For dust, I got all preventive and science-y.

So, your house has filters. Step 1: Actually replace these regularly. I know, you probably forget this a bunch, but buy the cheap filters and do it once a month. Keeps the whole place lacking in dust.

Step 2: Buy an Air Cleaner that is oversized for the room you're putting the toys in. These things are designed to keep out tiny allergens - dust is no problem.

Step 3: If you have pets, don't let them in, and keep the door shut.

Through this, I've noticed negligible dust collection on shelves over stuff that's been up there for 10 months. Higher shelves are problematic for me as the Air Cleaner only has so much range and the A/C vents are on the ceiling of the room. So some dust does get through.

Prevention goes a long way, and it most definitely isn't perfect, but when I do want to dust it's not nearly as bad as it could be.

Nothing is for sale, right?

Correct, nothing is for sale. This is a thread for me to show off my collection. I have a sales thread in the BST area that is bumped regularly when I have things for sale (right now, I do not) :)

Jesus Christ! Even with those close-up shots, I think I actually hurt my eyes trying to distinguish one figure from the other. Very impressive.

Thanks for looking! And yeah, this is why the Alternators shelf and the MP Shelf are probably my faves - because stuff has room to breathe! Hopefully one day I'll have more space and be able to give some other lines the room they deserve. Of course, I'm generally a clutterbug anyways, so who knows if it would help #-o

Damn, I really need to update this. So much has moved - but so much hasn't! Crazy to look back 18 months and think about the work that still goes on keeping all this looking at least a little decent.

I am a big fan of those cabinets. Were they something you custom built?
