No Thundertron..? :(

Ultra Magnus looks quite nice in the official (so possibly DECEIVING AND FAKE) photo.
Skyquake - so I assume also Dreadwing - is glorious, and Grimlock.. well, he's Grimlock.

As for the Dark Energon line: Megatron is a joke. And no, not interested.

Nice to be able to discern the faces of the Wreckers, too!
They look ok, actually, but I'm still not sold.

Magnus does look really great. Seeing him get his own mold is pretty much never disappointing. When they do magnus, they do him right.

wow, that's a whole lotta awesome there. thanks for keeping us updated. mostly just having my initial thoughts on these guys confirmed, but there are a few I'm maybe having a second look at. Not sold on Ruination in total, but if they're single packed I might get Roadbuster and maybe Whirl. Topspin and Twin-twist have nice new heads but I'm no fan of the colours. Likewise Impactor.

Blaster and his...wee dudes...are awesome. Got to get them, even though the mini-guys basically just change into draughts pieces. Not much different from the originals tape modes though, and the robot/animal modes are pretty cool. Plus, there's nowt cooler than a jive-talkin' robot with a zoo in his chest.

Grimlock. Yeah, he's pretty awesome. The China-Gen deluxes will be bought. Swerve's awesome head and robot mode are selling me on him. Sandstorm looks pretty good here too, but not sure I'll splurge on the Scout class guys unless they're at retail here. Legends and Voyagers are mostly easy passes for me. Wheelie and Springer get better every time I see them, especially Wheelie. First IDW, and now Hasbro...why/how do people keep making Wheelie cool? All this needs is a 3rd party to do some Wild Boy Of Quintesson add-ons and I'm in heaven.

The Prime figures aren't my cup of tea here. I'd pick up Slicer and maybe Skywarp at a local shop, or maybe even a UK mail order place, but don't think I'll pay for international shipping and the rest don't really interest me. Skyquake would do, if I knew Reprolabels were going to knock out an awesome thermo-nuclear neon set of stickers to make him look more G1. Botshots and The Other Kiddie TFs are not for me, but I do like a couple of those Cyberverse guys. Tailgate espeically. Also...this is now the...3rd? 4th? version of Knock Out that looks better than the normal Hasbro Deluxe. Really? :(

So, regardless of some misgivings and some (actually blessed) things that I'm in no way interested in, there's a fair bunch of goodies coming.

I see no reason to complain about that. The toys are already made, it's just new heads and paint jobs. Hasbro could have left it at that (or not even put on new heads) so even if you don't like the extra guns, just pop em in a box somewhere or on ebay.

Oh, I'm not complaining, I found it amusing. They all look pretty good anyhow, though I likely won't be picking any of these up unless I see them on sale. Whirl has always been what I consider the one transformer to do the lens-face thing right.

So, to be clear on the Dark Energon decos...

Bumblebee is Goldbug
Wheeljack is Slicer
Knock Out is Waspinator
Starscream is Skywarp
Megatron is based off of all the recent black, purple, and red "Shadow" repaints
Optimus is based off of that G2 Optimus toy whose name I forget. Also, he has a mouth.

Right?

Is that TRU Thundercracker in MP-11 Starscream's mold? Damn. Too bad I'll probably never see it at my local TRU.

Not a fan of the battle damage on his delts and the G1 detailing on the top of his alt mode's intakes, but that can be easily remedied with some mild thinner or even painted over.

Don't mean to complain, but Grimlock could stand to be a little more detailed and proportionate in both modes. That, said, I'm still buying him.
