This site has froze my computer again and I had to press the power button to restart it. I'm going to check for viruses.

This was something we implemented to cut down on spambots. It's only for your first few posts and then it disappears. (As you may have already noticed)

Tried to search the main news page, got this:

I dunno.

I've been noticing the following for a while now. Whenever I make a post, the Post A Reply page often lacks the Topic Review of previously-made posts that should appear at the bottom of the screen. As far as I know, this lack of the Topic Review should only occur in the Edit Post version of this page when editing an existing post of mine. But for it to be missing from the Post A Reply page renders multi-quoting a much more difficult task.

Thank you!

I was telling Ryan about this the other day but every time I tested it I couldn't get the damn thing to be consistent.

I've found if it does that, go back and try again as that gives it the bump it needs.

Indeed, I just noticed this today too. I was just trying it out in the MP Star Saber thread and I couldn't get the topic review pane to show at all, even after going back and trying again. (I was looking for a previous post to mention in addition to the quote in my post.) However, just now, after completing my post, I tried a blank new post and I got the topic review pane. So, I decided to try and quote someone else, and the topic review pane disappeared again. It appears that the functionality is limited right now if a post is initiated by clicking quote on a user's existing post (such as when I created this post).

I hope this helps!

[Edit] Oh, I was going to comment that my email notifications worked all day today, in case that info helps too. (Always TMI? ;) )

I have the same problem, it's kind of a hit-and-miss. However, you can circumvent the problem by hitting "Preview" first, before hitting the "Submit" button. On my end at least, the Topic Review always appears when I do that.

Using FireFox 31.0 btw.

Based on the above posts, I've tested Agamemnon's theory and, sure enough, the Topic Review appears for the regular Post A Reply page accessed by the Post Reply button, but not from one that's access from a Quote button.

EDIT: And using the Preview button does indeed make the Topic Review appear in the latter where it didn't before.

The theory is indeed correct, I tried it as well:

Post Reply: Topic Review
Quote: No Topic Review

The coding for the quoting must be a bit messed up.

Same here. I looked in my settings and in my subscriptions I am told the following:

"You are not subscribed to any forums."

How does one rectify that?

This should be an issue on the user end at this point. Seibertron.com is not on any blacklists currently, which can be verified at http://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?act ... n=toolpage

When this issue has happened in the past, it is always related to someone reporting emails received from Seibertron.com as SPAM.

I also double checked the bouncebacks that I receive. While I have a few bouncebacks for users who use sympatico.ca email addresses, I don't have any bouncebacks for your email address.

Please double check your SPAM folder or archives to see if the messages are being sent there.

Seibertron.com can't freeze your computer and this website doesn't have malware on it. If you are experiencing problems like your computer freezing, you should check your machine for viruses or malware. Also, how much ram are you running on your computer? Is it a new computer or an old computer? Which browser and which version are you using?

The setting you need to modify is under your "board preferences" settings in your "User Control Panel". Here's the direct link to the option you need to modify:

ucp.php?i=prefs&mode=post

The specific setting you need to change is "Notify me upon replies by default". Set this option to "yes" so that when you reply to a topic or create a new topic, "Notify me when a reply is posted" will be automatically selected.

You guys will have to give me a specific example by posting a URL that you are having trouble with. I haven't seen the problem and it seems to be working fine for me (though I never use that feature).

This is an example of a URL that I need you guys to post so that I can duplicate the error: http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/posting.php?mode=quote&f=214&p=1601726 (notice that the page in the URL is "posting.php" (all of the examples should include that page), mode equals quote, f (for forum ID) is 214, and the post (p is for post ID) is 1601726.

Are you sure you guys aren't noticing this when you go to edit a post? It doesn't show up on the edit screen, only on the initial reply screen.

I went to a known thread to try to get this to replicate, then when I hit the Quote button in this thread, the same thing happened. Here's the URL the Quote button sent me to for this thread:

posting.php?mode=quote&f=214&p=1602061

When I scroll down, there is no "Topic Review" section. I will now hit Preview so you can see that URL:

posting.php?mode=quote&f=214&t=216&p=1602061#preview

Topic review is now available.

I hope this helps!

I think you guys are mixing up when the "topic review" should display. If you hit the reply button, the topic review displays at the bottom of the page when you are posting a reply. If you hit the quote button, it won't display because you are already choosing a post to quote. If you look at the URLs that you posted, you'll see that t=216 is missing from the URL. That's what is passing the topic id to the posting page.

If you guys want it to function that way, I can make some programming adjustments so that it will give you guys the ability to have the topic review even when you click on the quote button, but it has never worked that way before.

I think the issue is this appears to have changed recently. I do not recall when exactly, but I do know I used to be able to see the Topic Review pane even if I selected "Quote". It is noticeable because of this change...

I could have sworn that it used to always appear when clicking the Quote button, but if it never did, I guess I just never noticed until now.

As for the suggestion, yes, allowing the Topic Review to appear in Post A Reply pages accessed via the Quote button would be a great wealth of help when quoting a post midway through a page while wanting to quote other posts in the same new post before hitting Submit (or Preview). ;)^
