I think the game is ok, clearly it is geared up for online players rather than for across the board, but anyway I give it 7/10.

A few gripes:

I felt the missions were on occassion too long and drawn out and too linear.

Not much in the way of character selection.

Not enough flying missions or missions which involved good uses of vehicle mode.

Lack of cover system

Pants AI

Lack of Offline hoarde mode/or similar (for people not connected to the net)

All in all it is a good game but now I have completed it there's nothing else for me to do so it's back to Red Dead for me and WFC will end up gathering dust. :-(

So I'm not entirley finished with the campaigns yet, but from what I've played so far and from the multiplayer beta....this game is fantastic. This will be the game to pull The Transformers name out of the muck in the video game world. As always it is not perfect, I hate that they only give you very bright colors for the autobots and very dismal colors for the decepticons. I see where they are coming with this but the next game take that crap out and give us a little more freedom with customization. Other than that it's really just some very very minor glitches I have noticed. To wrap it up I love this game...and I will be playing on the 360 all the time ( gamertag PanzerBatallion) and every fan of Transformers should pick this game up either for the 360 or PS3. :BOT: :CON:

I was able to get mine with no problems.

The graphics are better than the previous NDS Transformers games. Music...meh. Peter Cullen's voice is classic, of course. While Bumblebee sounds a bit like Ichigo from "Bleach". :D

I would be interested in knowing just how different the story-lines are from console to console. Even if not can always go to Transformers: Exodus whenever it gets here from Amazon to catch the full story.

Only downside: What happened to any sort of Wi-fi gaming with this thing??? :BANG_HEAD:

That's because the bumblebee's voice actor is the same voice actor that did Ichigo's voice in Bleach.

I bought it for the PS3 and I have to say it's even better then what I thoguht it would be.I do find the escalation mode to be alittle tough once to make it past wave 6 or 7 but all in all I have it a 10 out of 10

Or, as he's better known: Johnny Yong Bosch, who played Adam Park, the second Black Ranger on the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, MMPR The Movie, and the Turbo movie.

It's just easier to say he's the second Black Ranger and people will automatically say "Oh yeah, him. I remember now."

An odd choice, if I do say so myself. Is he any good as Bumblebee?

Thats what I thought.

I picked my copy up for the 360 after work yesterday, and even though I've only played through the entire Decepticon campaign and the first level of the Autobots', this game is totally effing awesome. Combat is fast-paced and challenging (especially with the scarcity of ammo at times), transformation is smooth, the robots are slick, voice acting is great, and that's just campaign! I haven't even gone into multiplayer yet!

I have some minor annoyances, of course, but they don't detract any from the overall playability. Firstly, the selection of chassis in multiplayer seems a bit scarce (Autobots need more tanks!). Perhaps we'll get some future DLC with additional mutliplayer chassis?

Secondly, I'm kinda miffed about the color choices when customizing your TFs in multiplayer: Autobots are limited to blue, red, green, orange, and yellow (all of them very bright), while Decepticons have faded colors like grey, purple, light blue & green. Now, my beef comes primarly from the fact that since I play HMW, I was excited to take my 'Bots from there and put them in WFC. Sadly, I can't get them exactly the way I wanted, but I'll adapt.

Again, those are relatively minor inconveniences admist a sea of awesomeness. Fans of shooters and TFs alike will enjoy this. One of my favorite games of all time! 8)

Ok, so you all have listed the good parts quite well.

…and the game IS good, especially the single player mode (though the multi is no slouch either). I would rate it at around 8.5/10

That being said, here are my complaints about the game:

CHECKING….

10%

20%

CHECKING…

40%

80%

81%

90%

CHECKING…

100%

Seriously, why? That was a very big install, why are we checking the data EVERY time I load the game?

Onward:

Single Player:
-Occasionally, enemies can be seen, but don’t exist. Meaning, you can target and shoot at them, but the shots will have no effect because you haven’t loaded them yet.
-Loading breaks. Drive too fast? Stop to load. Run into a room with a speech cue? Stop to load. Why?
-Megatron is insane. Ok, I was under the impression that it might be possible to sympathize with Megatron’s purpose here. No, he’s insane. Big Brother-esq rants over loud speaker about the joy of giving up free-will? Seems like maybe Hasbro required that the sympathy factor get turned down for the villain.
-Trypticon battle Part 2…Now, this is only a complaint because of how AWESOME the Omega Supreme battle was. By comparison, the Trypticon battle is shallow and frustrating.

Multi-Player
-Oh boy…I can’t invite people into private rooms for games that aren’t on my friends list??? What the hell?
-“Match is full or does not exist.” ::calls friend playing game:: “You have people in your game? No?” ::FFFFFFFFFFFF::
-Decepticon colors…they’re Easter Colors + Black and Gray.  Sad Panda.
-Disconnects…I don’t know what’s up, probably first day jitters. Let’s resolve that.

When I mention him to one of my friends, I have to add "Vash from Trigun." And yes, he's actually a really good Bumblebee.

Again, yeah, that's a problem, since it was so awesome playing as Starscream.

tom_p1980 wrote:Lack of cover system

This one is a problem and not a problem. You can just hide behind a wall or pillar or something, that will stop the bullets from hitting you.

Counterpunch wrote:Seriously, why? That was a very big install, why are we checking the data EVERY time I load the game?

The install for me was only ten minutes, and the data check takes less than one minute. I don't see it as that much of a problem.

Counterpunch wrote:-Loading breaks. Drive too fast? Stop to load. Run into a room with a speech cue? Stop to load. Why?

I only had that a couple times. Load breaks happened maybe once or twice per level, but only took a couple seconds.

Well he IS the main antagonist. He just happens to be a main antagonist you can play as for half the game.

You seem to be missing my point entirely.

We were supposed to be able to see things from Megatron's point of view. We were supposed to be able to say, "Oh, I get it. I understand why he's waging this war. I could even follow him into battle for those reasons. It makes sense."

Instead it was a bit more of Beast Machines Megatron than we were led to believe.

I have the PS3 version and it is good game after the long wait of system update and game installation. Finished first campaign with Megatron and I found my self running out of armo easily. However, I found the enemies are blended with the background too well and sometimes it's hard to see them (or maybe I need a bigger TV). Online game is fun too even though I haven't got a chance to play it long enough.

I absolutely love this game. I have been waiting quite some time for a Transformers game that didn't suck hard. I got home yesterday around 3PM Eastern with my copy and have already finished the Con campaign and am on the third chapter of the Bots. The game really feels right. Characters are great looking, alt modes rock, my only beef is the lack of weapons for customizing characters. I am really looking forward to sequels and downloadable content.

BTW if anyone on 360 wants to play my GT is Juxtoposeium

Got for 360. It's pretty good, definitely an improvement over the movie games(TF1 sucked, TF2 was so-so at best). Hell, I'll even put this one up the with the PS 2 TF: Armada game(which imho is the best TF game to date). Gameplay is fast paced and action packed, control is decent(though not perfect), graphics are excellent as usual(every TF game since Armada have all had amazing graphics), voice acting is top notch, music is great. Not a whole lot to complain about.

My only gripes thus far are in the controls and the usefulness of vehicle modes.; 1. Clicking in the left stick to transform is stupid. All too often I found myself falling to my death because I was in the middle of a jump and accidentally clicked the stick in causing me to transform. 2. Would have really liked for a down the sites snap targeting ala COD(but this is more of a personal preference). And the vehicle modes are all but useless until the game makes you use them.Wish they coulda been more useful.

All in all, a good game, very GOW like(which is obviously the inspiration for this game). Definitely up there with PS 2's TF: Armada for me.

If you're on 360, sorry, can't help you. Just wait a little longer for someone to explain it for that.

For 360, you redeem it like you would redeem a code for Microsoft Points or for a Gold Subscription. Just hit the big green X on your controller (I don't know what else to call that button lol), scroll all the way to the left, and go to "Redeem Code" and just type it in.

Wow. That's all I could really think during my first play. Just wow. So much nerdy goodness it was hard to think straight. It finally hit me during the Soundwave boss battle. I never thought I'd be playing a video game where my friends and I are battling G1 Soundwave and his cassette minions in an epic showdown. These are truly wonderful times we live in! The missions were satisfyingly long and always kept things interesting. We especially enjoyed ripping around on Iacon's highways. The firefights were intense and forced you to be smart about you and your allies tactics. I absolutely love the 3-player co-op. Well worth the pricetag right there. Co-ordinating your efforts is just cool especially when against enemy types like the Brute. I also gotta mention the tone of the game. It's war. It's serious. It's tragic. It's not the campy feel of the show but definitely a grittier representation of their universe, much like the comics. For instance. I was rather shocked when we were taken to the Decepticon prison facility and witnessed a group of Aotobots being executed by firing squad right in front of us. It struck me on an emotional level where few games had before. This is the Transformers I have always wanted to see. This was the game I had always wanted to play.

It's hard not to repeat a lot of what's already been said so I'll move on! Now for the most part everyone seemed to have a pretty smooth experience with the game. I hate to say it but my friends and I did not. Last night we broke records for bugs and glitches in a single sitting! At one point my friend did the classic fell through the floor and died. We had to reload the Soundwave boss fight because Lazerbeak flew behind the energy shield and got stuck back there, thus preventing the game from continuing. One of the strangest (and probably most inconvenient) was during the 'protect Omega Supreme' battle. There we are, in the middle of the fight, and I lose the ability to use weapons. Weapons!! The whole gun mechanic just fails on me! I can't shoot. I can't switch weapons. All I could do was run around like a maniac bringing fists to a gunfight! Those are just the more interesting ones we encountered but y'know, it was launch day. There are bound to be bugs and I'm sure they'll be fixed. The game was literally too good for us to be disappointed though. It's beauty, story, and awesome gameplay far outweighed the glitches.

And come on, how awesome is it to BE Optimus, say 'Autobots, roll out!' and then you and your 2 buddies do just that? Good times.

bagofshhh wrote:If you are planning to get the version for the Wii, I'd wait until the price comes down. Having not played the other versions yet, it sounds like the Wii version is definitely the sub-standard version.

It is not a true third person shooter, the best way to describe it is that it is more like the Time Crisis games. Basically the game automatically moves you from shooting gallery to shooting gallery. The only time that you can actually control the character's movement is when the game automatically transforms you into alt mode and you have to drive (or fly) to the next shooting gallery.

The game itself is not horrible (I liked the Time Crisis games) but the game is pretty easy, and the graphics are really sub-par when compared to the vids I've seen for the other consoles.

Sorry, I wasn't planning on going into that much depth, but hopefully my opinion is helpful to someone. Like I said, the game itself is not horrible, but I'd wait until the price comes down. $20 would be a reasonable price to pay for the Wii version.

This is exceptionally helpful for us few potential Wii buyers. Thanks. Great write up. :APPLAUSE:

Campaign is decent. on normal it goes from easy to super hard in a second so its kinda unbalanced.

THE MULTIPLAYER!!!!! By far the coolest multiplayer i have played. i love playing as a Scout Class and zipping around finding an enemy lighting him up with my machine gun in car mode then seamlessly transform into robo blast his ass with my shotgun pistol and transform back and dip out. The animations for transforming's are smooth and nice very fluid and believable. Best multi player out right now i think because of how incredibly awesome it is. I am just inlove with how great the game is. i feel like im really in cybertron the enviroment feel's alive and how awesome a metal world can look. right now i wish i was playing the multiplayer but alas i am at school taking summer classes to finish up my degree. THIS GAME IS EPIC. i hope the online community thrives because i can say i would much rather play this then any other multiplayer just because of how many options and styles and things you can do. fly, zip, and tank. i haven't tryed the flying in multiplayer yet been to inlove with the scout. his style fits me well. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME. just so you know i am not a fan of HALO that game blew ass all 3 of them. i like hard core shooters. like CS:S Gears of War 2 and Socom. This Game dwarfs those 3 games i loved by a long shot.

WOWWWWW really? vehicle mode's useless? you must have no idea how to use them correctly maybe not in campaign but in multi-player they are loads of help some times i am in vehicle mode more so then robo mode. all deppend's on what is going on in the field. this is not your average lame shoot em up. you have to think of strategies that's why i love it.

Love this game. I got it the 19th, thanks Seibertron! Anyways I am hooked. I play CounterStrike every night for a few hours with my clan, and I find myself not able to focus. I would rather play TF. Depending on my mood, I rock the Scout with the shotty and a sniper cloaked, or Leader with the Fusion Cannon, and Scrapmaker. I was in the top fifty last night, not sure about now lol. So if you are getting rocked on Ps3 by "WiiDevi7" that would be me. I still want to know who has ReDevi7 or r3devi7, those are my tags jerk. I am still mad I spent $65 on Mw2 the night i released... This game is actually worth it.
