i was thinking that there could be a whole post just for shockwave. it could be a discussion for the toys and the overall character. so, what do you think of this legendary TF?

He's a good character. Energons the best toy of him that's bout it i guess. Idk why we need an official forum for him though?

He would be Energon's best toy but sadly they OVER over exadurated his gun arm.

The origional figure, is just amazing though. Electronics, a gigantic size, a unique style different from the rest of the line up, and (for the time) exellent articulation that rivaled anything else out at the time save JetFire.

Still, as increadably bad ass as he is, without even getting into the shows and comics, his own forum is a little much.

After all the's only had a few figures.

Still, a thread dedicated to how much he kicks ass is a pretty good thing in it's own right :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE:

Well the Energon toy was a really good version of him. Although the Arm was just overkill. I'm sure it could have been done differently. Still one of the better representations of the character, even if they changed the name a bit.

But one good point is he does have a very nice Unnoffical Gun mode.

Then we have the unreleased Titanium Prototype, which I think looks really cool:

I hope they release a Shockwave for Universe. Even if its not based on the Titanium Mold.

yeah. i know. but he's just a great character and no one really knows him [generally speaking]. he doesn't get the credit that the actual character deserves. everyone knows the big characters and doesn't take the time to look at the smaller ones.

As a matter of fact, I did.

Took the pic of the gray Prototype and "photoshopped" in some color. I think it looks pretty good.

That ProtoType needs some love!

I'm kinda glad that Titanium didn't do it, cause they do look great, but aren't realy play friendly.

I would love to see Classics take a crack at it thought!

COME ON STUPID HASBRO, YOU KNOW IT WILL SELL!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------

on a side note, I just won a second Mach Kick vs Archadias set. I never opened my origional, Mach Kick is the only bot I have that I never once transformed, so guess what I'm gonna go do now :D

I've liked Shockwave since G1, when I was a kid I always felt bad for him because Megatron had left him behind when everyone else went onto Earth. I really like how they showed him in the IDW comics though, thanks to that 1 issue I have a little area of just Shockwaves in my main collection.

I really hope they release that titanium mold though, nice recolor Overcracker looks good

I dunno bout that man, I prefer the alternator.
He may be a car and not a ray gun, but that thing
is just cool topped with awesome.
Though, I've never taken my energon version out of the box.
Shockwave was always one of my favorite Cons during G1.
There was so much mystique that surrounded him.

Very cool character, the only figure that I want to get though is alternators shockwave.

I have to say the best represtation of shockwave the character was in idw spotlight series. It showed his true colors and not just that he was subservent to megatron but he had his own plans and ideas for cybertron.

The only Shockwave figure I have is the Actionmaster version, but like Soundwave(which I also have, and was my "version" of him as a kid), they didn't really need to transform to be cool cause they didn't transform in the show that often.

As for the character, Shockwave was barely there in the show, forgotten after the movie, but really shined in the comics. I wonder, if Shockwave wasn't written about so heavily in the early days of the Marvel comics, would he still be so popular? Let's not forget that if something happened in the Dreamwave comics, it was almost always because of Shockwave. They went a bit overboard in that sense :P

Yeah Shockwave was always one of my fave transformers in the comics too, I thought they really didnt do him justice in the tv series, they should of made his character more like they did in the comics and not such a subservient buttboy. I have the actionmaster version of him too and thought it looked the best... till i got the alternator version :P Just wish i could get my hands on the original.. bit hard to find down here in NZ though :P

Shockers has always been my favorite character. The Marvel comics made me love him, and I always wondered as a kid when he's stop being a wuss in the show and take Megs out. :D

I've had next to zero luck getting my hands on toys of him, though. I only got back into TFs around the time Classics was out, so I missed out on the Alternators and Energon toys - which I'll rectify when I can.

I only recently got his G1 toy for the first time, never having had him as a kid (I got Soundwave instead after a misunderstanding - wonder how many kids that happened to, and vice-versa?). I only took him out of his box once to play about with him for a bit, because the one I got is in great condition - I just might have to pick up another loose one.

His Robot Heroes incarnation owns my desk at work. Hee hee...

Broke my heart when I found out his Titanium mold wouldn't see release, it did. Come on, Classics 2.0!

Couldn't they release a classic fig for shockwave?
I still don't understand why does hasbro not care about shockwave...

He always gets well done in the comics.

Like the Energon toy but would love to see a toy of his appearance in the PS2 movie game. Love to see it in the next film too.

I want Shockwave in the movie sequal. I was really hoping that he would appear right at the end of the first one. As the dust from some huge battle that saw Megatron defeated you see one green glowing optic peering dead into the camera with his distinctive head shape just visible through the dust. If that had happened you know that he would have kicked Autobot bottom in the 2nd film.

He'd have to be really really nasty, cold, plotting and ruthless piece of work.

I second that. Shockwave really needs a movie appearance and a toy (at least Voyager size) based on his game appearance.

Shockwave is the top Decepticon in my book! But you know what?, I dont think the original toy can be beat, sure they can add articulation and gimmicks gallore... But The first toy just looked , utilitarian, stone-cold, logical killer. Just like the comics, a guy who could get things done. Unlike " Mighty Shockwave" :P as he was prtrayed in the old show, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.... And thats something for a guy who turns into a 35' laser gun!

I woudln't like to see a voyager class fig for shockwave. A deluxe would be enough.
Animated shockwave, please.

ok, I haven't posted in a while, but I love Shockwave so much I had to throw in my 2 cents. Possibly the most overlooked TF of them all. He's one of the reasons it's hard to pick a favorite overall TF. I always wanted him when I was younger (Hasbro G1), but could never get him, always sold out. Definitely need to cop one. Any suggestions? If they haven't reissued him, it is much deserved. As a futuristic laser pistol, I don't see why hasbro will not make the toy again. I'd love a TRU reissue. Probably the same reason why they won't make G1 megatron again.
He was head of security on Cybertron wasn't he? I'd consider him the highest rank decepticon when Megs wasn't there. I love how his face lit up when he spoke. Makes me want to go back and watch every g1 episode he appears in again. Along with jetfire and Ultra magnus he is very high on my list of wants. Takara could you make a MP Shockwave please?????

Shocky is a honking Apache/Turret platform. Not exactly car-sized

Hasbro already screwed up on the Con scale for the movie, so they shouldn't add more tiny figures.

Now that I'm thinking about it, there was an Apache in the Movie. They could make a new Shocky mold based on that Apache's model and colour scheme, with the game robot mode.
