Should I open my DOTM Starscream and Thundercracker?

Postby skywarp55 » Mon Jul 30, 2012 2:07 pm

I Just recently I picked up DOTM Starscream and Thundercracker and I am wondering If I should open either one of them for my movieverse shelf or keep them mint on card sealed? I also noticed that the value of transformers goes down when they are opened and loose out of the packaging. Any suggestions? Skywarp 55 out

Agreed. And those two figures were very common. They'll never be worth much, even sealed.

I own both and they're great, but they won't be worth much if you plan on selling in the future. Being it sealed or opened, you'll probably make 0 profit.

Leader Starscream would be the one to get to sell later, I'd think. The largest versions of each of the Movie characters (HA, Leaders, Supreme (Devastator)) already typically go for well over retail price in the aftermarket. A smaller, cheaper, more common, "inferior" mold like the Deluxe just can't compete.
Can't imagine a non-rare, non-show repaint of said mold fetching much, either.

Unless you wait several decades, then *maybe* you could sell them for quite a bit. Maybe. But you might as well open them up and enjoy.

Open them and enjoy them.

This,

shouldn't be an issue for you to concern. If you have a figure that 10000 people want, they won't care if it is opened or not. If zero people want, it also doesn't matter if opened or not.

Particularly with how little love Movie Starscream's overall design gets.

Yup like what the others have said, these 2 are not going to worth a lot in the near future but if you're really going to such open one (since they are the same mold), then I'll suggest TC since if anything, SS would be worth more than TC.. I think..
