Should their be Transformers that refuse to take a side?

I was just thinking would you like to see Transformers that refuse to side with either Decepticon's or Autobot's? I think it would be cool in a series if there were Transformers that didn't like either Optimus or Megatron as a leader and defended their views by saying "Haven't we lost enough of our kind there are so few of us left yet you both continue to fight each other further continuing the extinction of our race."

They're called NAILS. They're in the current crop of comics.

They were featured in that and also there was 2-bots in a Transformers series called "Transformers Cybertron". Sideways and Shockwave who later joined the cons I believe. So, I think some more would be cool

In season one of the "Transformers Prime" cartoon. There are two transformers who refused to take sides. Wheeljack for the autobots and Airachnid for the decepticons. Later on in season one there is a third transformer who call it quits and flies off into the sunset.

I always figured most Cybertronians where neutral and that the Autobots and Decepticons where just military organizations.

I very much like the commentary on Wjack and Airacchnid. I'll throw in a mention of the Dinobots, G1 and Prime versions of the Insecticons and Armada-version Minicons as well.

Yes from me, there should be multiple groups and I would like to see them, including 'savages' who don't even know about the war yet or who are wanted for the war effort *now* but were not considered part of the Cybertronian Empire by Cybertrons during its' Golden age, and 'Ferals' as per the Kitchen appliances and Telephone boxes in the Bayverse.

Also, G1 Doubledealer and Animated Lockdown. Both are assholes that just think about their wallets and don't care about any causes or politics.

I like the NAIL idea, but I wish there'd actually be some characters involved. If an actual TF character was a NAIL and thus offered something to the non-faction in terms of persona or meaning other than just being background drawings it would be much cooler in my opinion. I always liked that the G1 tech spec stories mentioned that some Cybertronians were more about their side than others, like how Thundercracker and Mirage were not entirely sold on their factions, and I always found it silly that every single Cybertronian could stand on one side of the divide or the other, 100%. The Cybertron series did this sort of well by ha ving the planets basically being non-aligned with the Bots or Cons in terms of them being military factions, but like Velocitron was an Autobot planet mostly out of association with olden days Cybertron and such.

Tigertron, sort of. He was with the Maximals but he was still out with his actual tiger girlfriend. And the episode where she was killed, he was going to just run off and forget about the war but he was persuaded back to the Beast Wars
