Sideways was in DOTM

Everyone knows he was, and everyone's seen the picture, but still, since he Technically WAS In the film, why can't we get a new figure (Preferably Human Alliance) I'm sure people wouldn't mind a new sideways, esecially if it's a new mold, but he was STILL In the movie (So was Scrapper, but we'll never get a voyager or a deluxe of him anyway) So why no DOTM Sideways toy yet, anf If he's on his way, when do you think he'll arrive? you think he'll get a new mold? You think Human Alliance can happen?
AND For those of you who like to pick apart my words, I know he was just an extra! That, and I know He'll be a part of the Transformers ride, Along with Grindor/Blackout, and a couple other bots, so this possability has grown by like 000.001%

I don't mind if they make another toy of him. Human Alliance Sideways would be legit.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't Sideways, but just a reused model of him. I do agree with a new DOTM Sideways toy, though. They did it with Jolt, so why not him.

Personally, I'd like a MECHTECH Deluxe Sideways, MECHTECH Deluxe Bonecrusher and improved MECHTECH Brawl.

Or the last two just as Cyberverse Commanders.

Except he was sliced down the middle in the beginning of Revenge of the Fallen, so effectively he's Killed In Action. Barricade, his "look-a-like" (depending on viewpoint) reappeared in Dark of Moon for the execution scenes, after being Missing in Action since the end of the 2007 Movie. Sideways is an unloved character anyhow, as all his minor repaints can attest: he was simply cannon/blade fodder.

Yeah, Same goes for Scrapper. Never got a proper deluxe or voyager class figure, only Legends/EZ. Still, Hasbro needs NO Excuse to re-introduce figures From past movies into new movie lines. I mean, If it's possible for us to get a 2007 Jazz mold in the DOTM Line, and a rebirth for Barricade, Exactly why can't we get a new Sideways? We got a ROTF BoneCrusher even though he was decapitated, and We have Blackout AND Scorpinok in Cyberverse! Both are Dead! At least Sideways MADE An appearence, so there's no reason for him to NOT Have a new figure.

Let's check the amount of screen time for each:

Jazz: all of the 2007 movie
Barricade: all of the 2007 movie, went MIA
Bonecrusher: later half of 2007 Movie
Brawl: later half of 2007 Movie

Sideways: first 10 minutes of RotF, most of it in car mode.

Sure, Jolt got a figure despite the same amount, but he was supposed to have a larger role, was cut, then put back in again. The same can't be said for Sideways, who got less than his 15 minutes of fame. Sucks to be him.

I'd agree this is just a re-use of the mold. There was also a

Brawl look alike in DOTM
A Bonecrusher look a like in ROTF at the end
A Longhaul repaint / Payload in DOTM
Blackout repaint as Grindor in ROTF

It's easier to use something you already have then come up with brand new. Lazy....sure. Does it work.....sure. Cost effective....why not.

Actually, alot of those got like less than 3 minutes of screen time, But that's not the point here

This is.
They re-use older bot molds for new characters. But, since they do that, they often make new toys as well. New Barricade is an example. He got a toy in ROTF, but only because they like to re-use old molds as well. This new mold was because he was on screen. I agree with dirk2243, they re-use them for price. But if they re-use them, shouldn't we technically get toys for them?
Of course, looking back, there are on screen characters we never got toys of. A Proper Elita-1 comes to mind. We did get a fully combining set of constructicons though! Legends class, but whatever, best movie devastator. ever...
I'm sure Sideways will get a re-release in Cyberverse with his Legends mold or something.

One final question: was he actually identified as Sideways by the public and confirmed by the producers? Or was he just a nameless generic? If the latter: no toys.

I think he was just one of the many Cons that Prime killed when he swooped in. I don't think his screen time was more then 2 seconds?

Un-Identified. Doesn't mean no toys though. Hasbro would jump at a chance to use an old mold, that and plus that Bonecrusher extra (Wich was un-Identified) Also got a toy. The toy was a Deluxe named (Drum roll please...) Bonecrusher, go figure. I'm saying its POSSIBLE. Whats possible, not necciserely going to happen, Doesn't need logic poured into EVERY Hole. I'm just saying, he was in the film, a toy could come from it, and most likely would, especially in a two or three pack, or in the cyberverse line. It just seems like a wise move, coupled together with the re-use of an old mold. Hasbro doesn't care about scale either, look at the toys R us figures, so who's to say? I think a human alliance mold would be cool, but the chances are, like what, oe in a billion? I could be dying of cancer in the make a wish foundation, and if my last wish would be for hasbro to make a HA Sideways, they would still probably never make it. That's just a personal want.

Whether Hasbro can or can't or will or won't, it doesn't matter. There isn't going to be another Sideways figure HA or otherwise anytime soon. And I am happy about that, because I WOULD buy a Human Alliance Sideways if one were made-the Audi R8 is just to sexy to pass up. I am done with the movie figures though. I think they have for the most part become less desirable for each movie, and the quality just blows.
