Simple Thundertron Head Mod

I recently got Thundertron, and while it's neat to have a space pirate, I wasn't too keen on his limited head movement. Given the groove in the top of the lion head it seems like Hasbro may have intended the beard to drape majestically over the chest. But that pie was too high in the sky and they opted instead to make it handicapped.

The crux of the issue is a bit of transformation assist: a pair of circular grooves act as a track for pegs on the neck joint to ride as you pull the lion's head up and down. I imagine this was to assist transformation but the system doesn't allot the next to rise up to a good level. So by simply snipping the pegs away (cuts circled) the neck joint can go wherever it damn pleases. DANGER! ACHTUNG! NI NI BONG! This will make the neck joint loose. It can hold the head up by itself but it takes no effort to punch his head down into his chest. It's advisable to hit the joint with some Future or whatever you use to tighten your joints (I needed to do it for Thundertron's lousy hip joints anyway.)

Just did the mod. Luv it! What is that you use to get the foot/parrot to stick to the arm?

It's a little "perch" made out of a piece from the powerizer weapon. No actual cutting required, just disassemble. It plugs into the arm and the three "toes" of the foot fit in snugly.

What did you use as a peg to get him to hold his sword? I've been using the foot combination solution to get hid to hold his sword, but it makes his arm give way on occasion.

I just shaved some of the teeth off the gear and used the armature as a peg. To be honest though it doesn't really hold in his hand at all, certainly not securely.

I'm looking into some alternatives, I tried using some of the leftover plastic from the powerizer weapon by it looked off. I don't know, I think I might scult a "bell" guard seeing as it's a cutlass and all.

Also there's another thread here specifically talking about the sword mod.

Yeah, but that involves taking optimus's sword handle and gluing it to the bottom of the sword, and that wouldn't look right unpainted (which I suck at). And I've been doing the "mod" that they showed today alongside your head mod, but his arm is made too heavy. Just seeing if your sword mode was any better, or feasible for me to do. But thanks for the head mod anyway, makes him even better.

That parrot is the best thing to happen to Transformers in decades. Kinda really makes me want Thundertron now.
