Yeah. My Sixshot has had that issue since day one for me... and by Day one, I mean like circa 1987... it definitely feels like you're going to break it, but I usually just work at it slowly. Start separating down near the lower leg, then work your way up. This way, once you get to the upper leg area, you just work it to the side. Eventually, one leg goes where it needs to be and gives more room to work on the other leg...
Man, it's weird giving Transforming instructions in text form.
I mean, the toy is about 22 years old, which is what I chalk up as the reason why the legs don't cooperate for me. You do need to keep that in mind. The legs on my Sixshot, worked themselves out, more or less. It's still a chore to separate, but not nearly as bad as after I rediscovered mine about two months ago.
Also, let me reiterate, DO NOT fully separate at the lower leg, just loosen it up. Otherwise, you will break it.
