So...no reboot, but a new cast of (human and TF) characters, but Prime stays due to his iconic status, and because Peter Cullen rulz! 8)

So long as they keep the storytelling at least on par with or hopefully above DOTM, I've got no complaints. The action's been consistently good/decent in all three films.

Oh, and keep the military involvement down to DOTM levels, and no more almighty bombing raids.

what i took out of this is prime is going to continue to be a shelf warmer, bay is a greedy little kid, everything to do with these movies is made as they go with no planing at all about the future, & the franchise is still screwed.

Mr. Bay, I apologize, you're not an idiot ... You're a giant douche.

What exactly is he doing that's a problem? Making Transformers more popular than it's ever been? In what twisted universe is that a bad thing?

Apparently you havent realized yet that 9 times out of 10 going mainstream either kills or slowly kills franchises & genres. More people on board isnt always a good thing. Before the movies was there ever a time where people complained about overpricing, low quality, not being able to find something or having to deal with scalpers every time something comes out? No and why is that, because it wasnt mainstream and only fans and people who stumbled upon it knew about it. It wasnt until the movies that the franchise was thrown into disarray & hasbros greed was flamed to new heights. The franchise as a whole was way better off before bay got his grubby little hands on it and the mainstream morons were mad aware of our beloved franchise. Now if Transformes were to go through cycles like Star Wars & the various comic book properties do then it would be golden but forcing it to stay mainstream is slowly killing it. Like ive been saying Transformers needs a break and needs to take a year or two off and then be started up again from scratch. Thats the only way this franchise is going to be put back on track, either that or fire every one whos involved with it right now. Either way something needs to be done anew.

Ok, I'll say it. I quite like the first and third movies. The second one sucked but that is what happens when you start shooting a movie without a script then get someone to write one really quick. The final battle in Chicago was awesome. I really enjoyed it.

That being said, Fall of Cybertron was a much better movie than all three MB movies combined. It was also interactive. I would love to see the Ark battle from that game on the big screen. That was epic. Paramount should reach out to the writers of that game for the Transformers 4 script, then hire Joss Whedon to direct it.

Super, more movie Primes and Bumblebees on the way. More money for third party offerings I suppose.

You're right. Batman, Spider-Man, X-men, Superman, TMNT, and Resident Evil all faded away into obscurity after they had movies released. Those franchises are dead and gone.

The only problems with the franchise now are due to the global economic situation and Hasbro's mind boggling incompetence. You can't find a Vehicon? Then ask Hasbro why they put an awesome figure that also happens to be an army builder 1 per case. The deluxe figures are getting smaller and more expensive? So is everything else.

I know what you're going to say next, so I'll go ahead respond to that. "Bay made Bumblebee popular and we're stuck with unnecessary Bumblebee figures everywhere." True, Bumblebee became popular because of the movies. However it's Hasbro's fault again for overestimating his popularity. 1 Bumblebee per series is fine, we don't need 2 or 3 different molds and several repaint every year.

Well, what I get out of this is that there are a lot of a**holes in the fan community that think they know what's going on and think they are any less of a douchebag than Bay is and are totally f'ing wrong.
Seriously, some of you guys are complete dicks, you read way more into one clip than anyone has any right or ability to be able to do and you should be ashamed of yourselves because people like you are the reason that the rest of society thinks that TF fans are bigger pricks than Trek and Star Wars fans COMBINED! The sad part is, they're right.

He's got a point though. Some people in this fandom get their panties in a wad over the most trivial stuff and start running off at the keyboard without any thought or reason behind it.

Who gives a ****, its not like anyone is going to even leave their basement to find a weapon and track down michael bay. Retaliating to an angry poster is beyond pointless. It just seems like a power trip and nothing else. (Don't bother pointing it out, my reply is different; A hope to slow the derailment of the thread)

As someone mentioned, they need a Transformers CGI movie that spawned from the story writers from HIGH MOON, and maybe the author of the books, as I've heard good things about them.

:michaelbay: Bay will make a lot of dough regardless. Being compared to the likes of Jackson and Cameron in the interview is a complete joke...could you boost the guys ego anymore than it already has been? :michaelbay: When it comes to all fandoms there are pricks in every set...bashing each other solves nothing. I have as much respect for the Trekers and Star Wars fans as the TF fans. If Bay wants to do this movie right...then the inevitable has to happen...kill Bumblebee in the opening sequence! :CON: Bring in Hot Shot or add some beasts to the bunch and bring in Cheetor. We need a young new hothead in the group with a lot to learn that is not just comic relief. Optimus needs to age a bit...not falling apart like Jetfire but enough to show he has battle scars. Bring in the rest of the seekers and have a new leader emerge among them. Give the Autobots some damn air support...I want to see Sky Linx. There are so many things that can be done. As far as the :CON: leader goes...well I'd hate to see Galvatron...but Bay doesn't have much of an imagination.

Also would love to see the following:

I'm glad to see Peter Cullen is returning. I do hope they tone down Prime's eagerness for violence a little bit though. I'm fine with him being a warrior and all but I'd rather ripping heads and appendages off be a last resort and not hear him say "Give me your face," "We'll kill them all," and "You die!" So, basically how he was in the first movie.

I don't know why they haven't just said it is a sequel all along. It's obviously not a reboot and if it picks up from Chicago, then it doesn't seem to be a reinvention or whatever else has been suggested. Anyway I'm all for another movie(s), though I doubt any will be better than the first for me, it got me back interested in Transformers and into collecting in general. And I'm ready to hear some info on the premise and villians of TF 4!

The other thing you need to factor in too is change in buying habits.

A lot of people are moving their shopping online. Shopping for your kid? Do it from home, you don't have to go running from store to store to find a particular toy, or worse, have to drag the kids along and let them see what they're getting.

People seem to forget all this and just scream "BAY IS TEH EVIL!". Get over it people and look at the bigger picture.

So it's just going to be more of the same old **** with flashy "new" characters to try and distract us into liking it. Again.

I'm so glad I sold off all of my movie toys.

Aside from Masterpiece Optimus Prime, Masterpiece Soundwave, and maybe one or two others, it looks like I'm going to continue saving a lot of money. Between what HasBLO is doing to Star Wars and Transformers, and more Bay crap on the way, I can concentrate on getting good toys.

I agree with the majority of what you guys say, but the "kill Bumblebee" thing might not be feasible.

Hasbro might be reluctant to kill off Bumblebee, who (they think, at least) is a massive cash cow and by now an iconic kid appeal character.

I've like to see and end to Bee, though. As much as I like his updated design in the movie, his radio voice thing is really starting to get old. Especially now that it's starting to influence the other mediums like the Prime series and video games.

If only.

Bay loves to do his comedy thing, and the WFC/FOC and novels are pretty somber and serious. His brand of jokes might not blend in too well with the kind of story the games and novels tell.

Just my two cents' worth.

You hit it there! I think that that Prime loosing his boy scout hero to a fault personality hurt me the most. The Prime I know would bend down and give Megatron a hand up after a fight. But i learned that Bayformers isn't the Transformers I grew up with. It's another story that happens to be based on Transformers. It's the same thing Hollywood does with all material. it was the 2007 movie that got me back into Transformers (or at least the initial pre movie buzz) and I think more fans are good. I just feel that there could be wiser choices made if the responsible parties focused on something a little more honorable than the bottom line.

So, basically how he was in the first movie.

QFT. That said, I'd rather not see him get thrown around like a bitch, like in the first movie. He should hold his own and fight fiercely, but with a visible reluctance. Like any hero, he should reflect on the death of his enemy and wish it didn't have to come to this, which the first movie got right, except it shouldn't have been fricking Sam who offed Megs.

In short, I'd like to see him emulate the Optimus in the video games, instead of collecting faces.

Another thing I'd like to add is that if Bay is going to include the military in the film as NEST forces, at least have them bond a little with their Cybertronian allies, like hanging out or something. Sam seems to be the only one who has any form of relationship with the TF's at all.

I don't like that Lennox keeps calling the TF's "things" in DOTM either.

The way the game ended was much better. First he beat Megatron and then...
Personally I prefer it when Optimus is kicking ass and taking faces. It makes the Decepticons seems so much more evil. Here's a guy who has shown immense compassion to the human race, treating them as equals and sacrificing himself to protect them. But when he reacts so violently toward the Decepticons it tells me he's seen the horrible things they're capable of and how dangerous they can be when left unchallenged. Kinda like what makes the Joker a great villain. He's able to bring out the worst in Batman.

You present a very good point, there.

Personally, the only problem I have with DOTM is that OP should have seemed more reluctant in killing Sentinel. Regardless of the fact that Sentinel betrayed the Autobots and was willing to enslave the humans, this is Optimus's mentor and old friend. It's like your best friend going rogue and planning to blow up your school/workplace. You know you have to do it, but you don't want to, despite how far he's fallen.

OP didn't display that reluctance.

Worse, the solution to that was already built into the story: Ironhide's death. That would have snapped OP out of his reluctance. And a simple line in the end like, "This is for Ironhide," would have served to illustrate that for the audience.

And yeah, the first movie would have been perfect if it used the ending from the video game. But as is happens, Mr. Spielberg insisted it was Sam's story, and wanted him to finish Megs off.

Then ask Hasbro why they put an awesome figure that also happens to be an army builder 1 per case. The deluxe figures are getting smaller and more expensive? So is everything else.

Get over it people and look at the bigger picture.

poeple need realize half people who shop online is for gas prices to expensive drive to store to store but its cheaper when you add on shipping costs to shop online i can understand if that person has busy schedual works 8am to 11pm shopping online would be an option for half people,
but other half people who shop online are plain lazy thats where netflix, gamefly, buying online, dating online comes in people rather do more online that get out meet intersting people in ther area have common interst.

other memeber dont feel like serching i agrre with that memeber dont put bumblebee in every series repaint most wanted figures need to buy online or dont find with less quantity in selection i ave up loking for vehicon in stores had buy it online which i hate i like to hunt them down meet people help out other customers in store whic employees have no clue what there customer is looking for half time ( bumblebee, & prime are shelf warmers )

I can't wait for the next TF film.

I just hope the toys are screen accurate and have the right weapons.
The first movie line was very well done, same for the second accept they forgot to make 2 or 3 more constructicons (who have bot modes). DOTM was the best movie imho, but the movie line the worst. I really wanted a Leader Megatron/Shockwave.

I don't agree with the whole story about how the movies destroyed Transformers. It was pretty sad series wise with the Unicron Trilogy. I heard because it was made by japanese it was aimed at a younger audience.

Great to hear Mr. Cullen is onboard. I'd love to see Optimus Prime in a new rendition. Hopefully they pay attention to The Avengers, The Dark Knight and of course Fall Of Cybertron to make a better movie then DOTM. One should always try to improve.

And yess it could've been worse, if Mr. Uwe Boll got his hands on the franchise we'd all weep. My gawd, Bloodrayne could've been so cool. Kinda like Underworld but a bit more comic like and sexy and with more humor.

Now should I still get a deluxe Leadfoot? The thing is expensive as sin.
