So...about Generations GDO Dead End

The toy is esentially Wildrider, thanks to both the mold for the alt mode, and the paint deco. But they named him Dead End, and the bio matches that character as well. Was "Wildrider" not available for trademark? If so, "Decepticon Wildrider" or "Stunticon Wildrider" wouldn't have cut it?

Interestingly enough, now we're only short a proper Dead End (or a Wildrider decoed like Dead End) of having a full set of the five Stunticons in Classics form :) Well, Motormaster is woefully undersized, but scale has never been quite right in Transformers anyway. ;)

I'm imagining Soundwave looking down at his chest, opening the tape deck, and finding nothing inside. Then he thinks to himself, "Where did I leave Laserbeak?"

Probably not. Like "Motormaster", "Wildrider" has been a tough name to hold in the recent years (there were plans to use "Wildracer" as a substitute). Also, this may be an attempt to keep a hold on the "Dead End" trademark, as the amount of use determines its strength. Both lack of use and overuse weaken the trademark considerably, through lack of association and becoming generic respectively.

This would pass as Dead End, considering how *fake* GDO Dead End also uses a movie mold.

ROTF *correctly named* Dead End

Yeah, RotF Deluxe Dead End is a possibility, but I think its movie aesthetic is just a bit too strong, personally. The RotF Scout Breakdown mold, however, strikes a better compromise with the Classics look, using blockier proportions and alt mode kibble, along with a great head sculpt.
