There is absolutely no reason to assume it is anything else other than the Ark from the original cartoon series.Sabrblade wrote:Well, that's vague. Doesn't even bother to state which version of the Ark it is.
Why not the Marvel version? After all, that one was actually called "the Ark" while the cartoon one was nameless for all its existence.ScottyP wrote:There is absolutely no reason to assume it is anything else other than the Ark from the original cartoon series.Sabrblade wrote:Well, that's vague. Really?
I mean really?
"There is absolutely no reason to assume it is anything else other than the Ark from the original cartoon series"
how about the very simple fact that the Autobot ship from the original cartoon series was NEVER NAMED THE ARK or given any name what so ever in the body of the cartoon.

This is the internet, EVERYONE can do better, they just choose not to prove they can.

While I agree that it shouldn't be automatically assumed it was the cartoon version, due to it not actually being referred to as "The Ark," in the same vain I also have an objection to it being the Marvel version, as the Marvel Ark looked different than what is depicted. It wasn't even yellow.Sabrblade wrote:Why not the Marvel version? Isn't it ironic that a vessel named after the supposed savior of all life on Earth is one that can't even successfully complete its first flight? (It completed its mission of clearing the asteroids in the Marvel comics, but never landed on Cybertron again until much, much later, and only after Grimlock used it to punch Unicron in the mouth.)Sabrblade wrote:I also gotta wonder how one could even measure the speed of any version of the Ark at all since pretty much each one existed to go on a doomed expedition that would either result in its crashing on/near Earth (most versions) or being never heard from again (IDW's Ark-1, the non-DOTM Movieverse Ark, the Aligned Ark).
Perhaps...they made it up? These things do happen on the internet once in a blue moon.Sabrblade wrote:I suspected that this person might have gotten these stats from some source like the 2004 Transformers: The Ultimate Guide book or the Dreamwave More Than Meets The Eye profile books, but neither source gives the ship's speed in their sections for the Ark, so I'm at a loss for how they got this statistic.
