Pretty much this. I suspect it's half-truthes and minced words on Bay's part to keep controversy low until release day. I fully expect them to be in the film.

They were in the book just for a little bit, but they had an awesome scene. Just for that, they should be in the movie.

I remember the same thing happening to Jar Jar Binks in relation to Attack of the Clones. I also remember he not only showed up in it anyway but he also created the Galactic Empire by mistake, which in the grand scheme of Star Wars is a pretty big role to play. The lesson here is don't believe what you hear until you see it for yourself.

in all honesty wheelie was more annoying to me then the twins. and i think the idea of him living with sam and his new gf instead of the "warrior goddess" is stupid. it's like if your best friend broke up with someone and you stopped hangn out with your pal to chill with someone you just know as an aquaintence. and i don't like the whole idea of brains being a 2nd weelie.

The actor of Skids mentions that he did work in t3 for the twins.... so maybe they really are in it, and they're just keeping it secret like george lucas did for sebastion shaw in star wars 6.
