I'm against chrome. Hate that stuff.

I think these work well for what they are. They don't try to be an MP by any means. I think the primary focus here was to create a Voltron that could have decent sized pilot action figures and not look horrible when combined.

I would have preferred ball and socket for the lion legs instead of the ratchet joints, but that's cause the lions could really benefit from being able to do neat attack poses.

4 lions down. Now we wait until October for Black Lion and finish this thing off.

For now, I have lions sitting around my place.

My favourite Voltron is the original die cast version and these new Matty lions don't really have that same flavor goin on for me. I feel it's a bit of a missed opportunity to make a really cool/bad ass Voltron. At the very least they should have chromed the legs for crying out loud. But for the most part i feel the molds just need more detail. The only thing i think they have going for them is the enormous size. Which is pretty cool though.

Either way......i'm not biting.

While we on the subject of the die cast Voltrons, this revived an old debate. I remember in 80's that was both a smaller set of lions which combined into a smaller Voltron and larger set of lions. From a pure toy standpoint (not a collector item, ego, etc), which Voltron was funner to play with. Most kids wanted the bigger version (and we never had enough money to sneak in either one into my toy collection, I had rubber one instead), but I actually wanted the smaller version, because there are more available Robeast nominees for a smaller Voltron (Masters of Universe, some TFs, etc, w/ the rubber one I had, the Evil Horde Slime was not off limits). In contrast, the only fair Robeast nominees for the larger Voltron was the likes of Fortress Maximus, Scorponok, etc (Shockwave might have been too short).

Monday is the final day for Voltron. I'm so excited to finish off Voltron and have him on the shelf.

All the subscribers got it easy. I have to wake up in the morning and I hate waking up.

Part of me wishes I knew about the sub sooner than 5 months ago... eBay prices are WAY too high. After seeing reviews though, he seems very static and plain. He's huge... but that's about all he's got going on from what I've seen.

I sold my Black Lion today, which makes me done with that annoying ass subscription.
I was not willing to spend 350$ on a half-assed Voltron toy, just because it was huge.
Not enough Articulation, and typical mattel QC.

Thank God it's over.
