So, who is biting on the new Voltron figures?

I was only a so-so fan of Voltron growing up, mainly because the station they played it on didn't always have the best reception in my house. However, I've been watching re-runs of the original series and have since become a bigger fan.

For those who don't know, MattyCollector.com has starting putting out new versions of the Lions, complete with pilots. Once you have all 5, you can form a nearly 2 foot tall Voltron.

I ordered the Red Lion and Lance yesterday. Did anyone else?

Voltron is pretty cool. I too watched it on a static filled UHF station out of Chicago when I was young (channel 60 I think).

I don't know much about this current Voltron, and the red lion is already sold out, but the one that came with the sneakers looks awesome. I've thought about trying to get that one.

I've got some bits from past Voltron forces lying around, but nothing complete.
I really miss my Voltron camera and have no idea when I lost it. Checked one out on ebay a couple of weeks ago and was like "Whaaaa?".

Well, as Delicon already knows, I picked up Red Lion and lance too.

Didn't even know they went on sale until he mentioned it during our chat. Went on mattycollector and ordered it right there and then.

Now the main issue is waiting for the rest.

Well, it's obviously going to cost more, but you can still pick up the Red Lion from site sponsor BBTS.

As far as the shows, the DVD sets are pretty cheap these days, not to mention there being episodes all over Youtube. I've personally been watching them on Netflix, they have the complete series up there.

As payment for this service I did you, I expect you to name your first child (or hamster) after me.

I still haven't received a shipping notice.

Well, the Red Lion will cost that much now, but here's a breakdown for you if you buy the rest on Mattycollector:

Red/Green Lion are each $50 a pop pluss $10 shipping

Blue/Yello Lion are each $55 and I'm going to guess $10 shipping

BLack Lion is $65 and I will assume another $10 shipping

So a 2 foot tall Voltron with all the pilots will cost you $275 before shipping.

Not that bad compared to what some of us dropped on Hercules.

Even if you don't get Red Lion now, I'd highly recommend grabbing the other lions cause this will definitely be a desirable set later on.

How does this new one compare to the Masterpiece Voltron released a couple of years ago.

I don't have Red Lion in hand, but I can tell you size in one thing. I will assume Red Lion is about the size of one of Fort Max's arms.

I'm also thinking that there's no diecast in this one. I have the plastic version of the MP Voltron and I think to handle size and weight issues, the mattycollector Lions will be plastic.

Also, the lions open up to have the pilots sit in them and the pilots themselves are the 3 3/4 inch figures.

So yeah, the Toynami Voltron has got nothing on this one.

I was planning to order but last time I checked MattyCollector it wasn't on sale yet, and now it's saying sold out. MattyCollector price was high; BBTS is astronomical.
Want: Universe Astrotrain, Ratchet, Jetfire.
