So who's going rewatch both films right before Dotm comes out?

We're nearing the time for the latest in the Transformer Live action trilogy. I know when revenge of the fallen came out I had rewatch the original. I figure with in the last week before it comes out I will give atleast the first film another viewing since it was a few weeks since last time I watched revenge of the fallen.

Possibly fast forwarding a few parts to cut down the run time, but I enjoy them despite probably having watched both easily half a dozen times. Probably over a dozen for the first film. Which is alot considering the film for me isn't that old. (something like Gremlins or Star wars original trilogy, easily over two dozen times or more.)

So who's with me on this as I know I can't be alone. We are here...we are waiting. Decepticons, Transform and Rise up!

(On side note, Revenge of the Fallen is just a bad ass title for a film. Dark of the moon has grown on me but Rotf just sounds so much cooler. I suppose it helped I knew who the Fallen was prior to hearing the name.)

I sure as hell am. I tried to watch the first movie before ROTF, but I fell asleep about halfway through. I haven't been able to sit through that movie since. But I shall have to when DOTM comes out. It just helps that my birthday is on June 28th. So, for my birth day we'll have a Transformers party before 12. Only my family will be there though...since I have no friends. (Maybe one, but I haven't seen him in a while) and I shall watch both movies in anticipation.

Even if I had friends, they'd just tell me that I'm going to hell for liking ROTF anyway.

SlyTF1, you're a kid after my own spark in alot of ways. You're a bit more in your face than I was at your age, but I like the cut of your gib. This I can't be a nerd and have friends is really negative though. That's SOOOO not true.

I'm 31 and been a massive dork forever. I went with a bunch of people watch Thor just a few weeks ago. I used hang out with my friends as a teen playing video games and magic the gathering all night while drinking entirely too much soda heh. I constructed a bionic arm to dress up as Nathan Rad Spencer from Bionic commando. I've been the Guild leader in a few MMOs, which my former guild mates all think of me as like this heroic figure heh. It's like being the captain of the football team for nerds LOL. I've still managed have friends whom embrace me being dorky as can be, and I've managed see a few different women naked in my life.

Like in Scott Pilgrim(if you've seen the ,movie or read the books to know what I mean.) ...you need unlock your power of self respect Sly. If you don't love yourself...how can you ever expect anyone else to or to care and empathize with about others. I say this as someone who used be a really angry teenager. (I think at the height of my rage I'd made World War hulk seem calm by comparsion.) Don't beat yourself up too much as you got the rest of the world to do for you. Why do the extra work?

Ultimately only thing I regret was letting anger control me and isolate me from others. Life doesn't have to be bad. You're not alone in this world, I mean there's a whole website of people here who share same love for things you do. (probably a few who's collections are crossing into the embaressing ...OMFG how you have that many levels haha.)

I'd hang out with you if I lived closer infact. I know you live in DC, and I live near Chicago, but there's people out there you just haven't met yet who you can share this all with. If there's comic conventions or clubs in your area..go to them.

Everything in life is a curse or blessing depending on how you want to use it. Being a geek is same way. Anyone who would tell you that you're going to hell for liking something isn't much of a friend. True friends don't do crap like that. If you start feel better about yourself you will attract better people around. If you wear the victim label then the world will kick you down with it. It's up to you to light your own darkest hour Sly.

I know this all totally off topic (yeah I'm derailing my own thread haha.) but just something that's been bothering me to see. Hang in there Sly. Now returning to your regular schdule programing..(sees a G1 bumper of Jazz transforming then spinning around firing and Victor Caroli saying now returning to transformers.)

First off, I don't live in DC. I live in Virginia which is 3 hours from DC. But the fact is is that everyone is so clouded by their own personal self indulgences and are convinced that they're the only thing in the universe that matters...but yeah (sees a G1 bumper of Jazz transforming then spinning around firing and Victor Caroli saying now returning to transformers.)

Heheh, I've been watching the two movies off and on ever since I bought the DVD's.

I WILL be playing the DOTM game before watching the movie once it comes out, though. Well, that's because I just know there will be a ton of parents and kids in the theaters during the first few weeks, and I'd rather watch it in the privacy of my own home--no noise from other viewers, better surround sound placement since you're sitting right at the center of your home theater system, and you can pause the movie to use the can any time you can without missing a scene.

I'll probably marathon the films back to back the day before I go to the theater. Personally I'll wait for reviews of the DotM videogame before buying it.

Yeah I feel same about the Dotm game. I want to see a bit more of it before I purchase it. While I feel pretty good about buying it after High moon' war for cybertron, I won't blindly buy a brand new game. It's too much money to be wrong. I usually buy games after they've been out a bit for that reason.

I might though as my geek mode might get the better of me. I bought War for cybertron for full price. Given the DOTM game has alot of backstory between movies and won't spoil the storyline it might be worth getting before seeing it to enhance the experience. I 'll see how that plays out.

Good point. I think I'll just see what IGN or Gamespot has to say before getting the game.

Honestly, by now I've seen both of them so many times it wouldn't really make a difference. Might watch like the ending fights of both though, I liked those...

I haven't seen either in a while so I'll be sure to watch them again before DotM.

I'm planning on watching the first film today, and then ROTF either next weekend or the week after. Then I'll wait a week past the release date to see DOTM, 'cause every time I see a movie in a crowded theatre I end up arguing with some jerk who won't stop talking...

So yeah, I like to wait until the crowds thin out a bit. Less "theatre rage" that way. ;)

I watch both movies periodically. It's rare that the first movie ever comes out of my 5 disc changer. But, I'll probably watch both, June 29 and June 30th. I plan to hightail it to Ft Lauderdale right after work on July first.

I hate going to the theater for the same reason, but I've noticed with the Transformers movies that doesn't happen. Everybody stays quiet throughout, even the kids.

I really thought ROTF was a confusing title, it has three meanings

1. Megatron's Revenge
2. Revenge of living Decepticons from Mission city
3. The Fallen's Revenge

It's just confusing

I remember the audience in RotF being pretty damn loud, mind you this was everyone cheering at the all the awesome on screen and generally getting really into the movie. It's other films where I see the audience quiet except for the usual screaming kids and chatters. :-?

Or, you could twist it as Optimus's revenge too, since he had fallen at the hands of Megatron for a while, and soon as he was reborn, damn, he got serious revenge, didn't he!

As much as I hate ROTF I am wondering if the narrative tightens up some from a big picture perspective.

The movie has been $10 at Target from time to time and I just can't bring myself to buy it even at that price.

Events in DOTM shore up a greater timeline issue my friend and I were discussed after our first viewing. It took a second viewing to sort some of those initial issues out. Hard to fathom that there really is a timeline that works when all laid out that's the only reason I might have to rewatch ROTF.

Any pieces from ROTF fit into DOTM or help explain some things? Like how Shockwave and Driller are just 'there'?
