So I tried to play a CD on my 360 slim [Barenaked Ladies - Stunt if it matters] but the sound quality was so poor it sounded like it was playing through heavy static. The 360 dashboard sounds were perfectly clear and the CD wasn't scratched as I'm playing it on my laptop now. Anyone have an explanation or solution for this?

Try ripping the CD into your 360's harddrive. After it's downloaded, see if the audio changes at all.

I could try that but I really want to be able to just grab a CD and play it on my 360 without ripping every album I own to the HD. My old one never had this problem.
