Yes, that is an incredibly lame saying, but very true.
This is my first post ever in this forum (even though I have visited it ever since I heard the movie was coming out, which was late last calendar year). But I feel the need to comment.
There are some of you who need to take a deep breath and calm down. You are getting so riled up about silly little thing. For example, you hate the designs, so everything about the movie is gonna s*ck. No its not, so calm down. Do you really want G1 style in the movie? Do you really want OP transforming into a big box with big box arms and big box legs? Do you really want to see OP with a face place that mysteriously moves up and down when he talks? Do you really want Megs transforming from this huge bad-*ss monster into a tiny hand pistol? I mean, come on...
Perhaps they should have used the stop-action animation using old G1 toys? Or drawn cartoon G1 animation and combined with live action humans (ala Pete's Dragon or Who Framed Roger Rabbit, for those old enough to remember those movies)? They could have even occasionally thrown in a wrongly colored animation still, just as an inside joke to us TF fanboys and fangirls. The movie would have certainly been a huge hit (in my most sarcastic tone possible).
And what is the problem with Michael Bay directing? If you want big f**king robots beating the crap out of each other and blowing things up, you go with the guy who can do that best (Bay). If you want robots who are conflicted and emotional and sensitive and complex and whatever else, you get whoever directed Shakespeare in Love. I, for one, am happy that Bay is directing, I cannot think of a better director for this movie.
This movie is going to blow peoples' minds. I feel bad for any of you that pay your hard earned money to see the movie and sit there the whole pissing about the fact that Starscream does look like he did in the cartoon. I am going to the movie (probably 5 times at least) and I am going to enjoy every minute of it, because it has always been a dream of mine... to see TF in a live action movie. And in no way am I embarrassed to be a early 30's woman with that dream.
Take the pill, get over yourselves, and just enjoy the movie.
