In Revenge of the Fallen, he was an Cybertronian Jet/Satelite, and we all have to agree that it looked AWESOME! But in Dark of the Moon, he became Earth car, but not any car, a Mercedes SLS AMG, and that was awesome too. But as a personal opinion, I would prefer the Crybertronian Jet/Satelite because being a Cybertronian vehicle brings an evil and more of a Decepticon look, where as the Mercedes SLS AMG is more suitable for a Autobot. I think what they should've done was keep Soundwave as a Cybertronian Jet/Satelitte and make a popular Autobot the Mercedes SLS AMG, perhaps Hot Rod or Blurr? That's my thought/opinion, what yours?

I think he was fitting as both alt modes. HE was survilance in ROTF, and concidering his role as a spy to get closer to Sam and Carly, i think he fit the part of the mercades just fine in DOTM.

Also his satellite mode was still his Cybertronian mode, I'm pretty sure. Plus what seems less suspicious, a car or a satellite hanging out in the city. Also as 5150 said, as a spy of sorts it was only logical for him to be a car so he would become closer to Carly and Sam.

I agree here, and also....him not being a spy satellite in DOTM seemed to lessen the command and control aspect of the CONS. Just seems better to have your eyes and ears in the sky spying. Now if they would have played off on it more in DOTM as being a car spying on the BOTS.....then it would have been cool.

I think he looked better in DOTM than ROTF. It served to get closer to Sam and Mikayla, and his robot mode was kick ass, hmm?

If you think about it, that was the ulitmate goal. Soundwave needed to get close to Sam and Carly in order to keep an eye and find out how much they knew. The watch was then attached to Sam so he could find out if the Autobots had any kind of backup plan. So the ultimate goal was to spy on the Autobots.
