I'm curious to hear other folks takes on the new SSX incarnation for the Playstation. Any reviews?

I really like it. If you've played and enjoyed past SSX titles then this will be right up your alley, although the trick system seems to be slightly changed so it's not as easy to chain your tricks together. What I mean is in the other games while doing a trick in the air you were able to chain tricks together while still holding the "tweak" button, but in this game you have to pretty much let go of all the buttons (not the directional buttons) before starting a new trick. You level up by getting exp depending on how well you did and any badges you achieve during your run Awesome graphics and sound/music, and you can even import a custom playlist to listen to while you hit the slopes. Online is really fun too, being able to compete against others in events for the top score on each mountain and winning credits depending on how well you did. Also they added a patch recently that lets you party up with a few people and be able to all try the same event at the same time.

While the game overall is fun, I find myself getting angry at it quite a bit. At times, the game feels more like work than fun. I don't like the fact that you die...in some cases, a LOT. Zombies with Jetpacks is one of the worst...the slightest mistake and you fly off the side of the mountain. I also find the movement controls to be very imprecise, and the camera angles can mess you up- especially if you get turned around inadvertently, which seems to happen quite a bit especially in tunnels.

Overall, the game is fun- espeically the online competition and the ability to race your buddies. But I think it lacks the true feel of an SSX game.

Yeah I forgot to mention that part. If you fall of the mountain you don't respawn or anything, you have to start the run over. You can, if the run permits it, rewind at the cost of points and time to before you fell so you can fix your jump or whatnot.

Hey if you want to hook up on the mountains, my handle is imfromcybertron. (this goes for anyone)

What's your favorite run? I'm partial to Serenity myself. And my least favorite is Zombies with Jetpacks. :BANG_HEAD:
