Yeah, it sucks that there was some confusion between me and the source, but it was totally worth it.

With Pete's comment, I'm of the understanding that Botcon is NOT in the Southeast then. 8)

Maybe I should post more stories with Botcon rumors that get shot down so we can deduce the actual location. It'd probably be quicker than waiting for the club to announce it....

QFT

Edit (so post has substance):

I'd still roadtrip anywhere in the Southeast to see Stan Bush play live. I don't need Botcon as an excuse to do that.

One possibility may be METROCON: Tampa's anime convention, which takes place every summer!

I surely hope he'll be here!

To think, even the slim chance that BotCon could come to my neck of the woods! Hells yeah. :)

We will invade your house.

Better than crowding 15 people into my hotel room. :)
And it would give me a chance to show off my collection.

With the seeming debunkment of this rumor, I suppose I'll stop celebrating. Still, if it does wind up down here, we should take off the day after the Con and hit up New Orleans for a Post-BotCon Party.

Well if it does show especially in Orlando there are two places it could be

The is a huge convention center where they had the American Idol tryout a few years abck and Megacon is every feb

Or there is one right outside the Magic Kingdom. You can see the Castle and Space Mountain from the convention area.I heard there was a Joecon there a few years ago

But as usual they will possibly go to the middle of the country

I had the pleasure to meet Gregg at TFcon this year and all I can say is that he is a class act!

You doubt wrong! Stan will be in Orlando, Florida for JACON according to their RSS feed/LiveJournal: http://community.livejournal.com/jacon/

JACON is Memorial Day weekend in Orlando, Florida. Check out http://www.jacon.org for more info.

UltraPrimal wrote:I hope it's in Florida too! Like in Orlando or Kissemmee. Then my whole family would go. Even if they don't want to go to the convention, they can just go to the tourist stuff down there.

No need to hope... it is Florida!

It is now. :)

Florida. As a bonus - Gregg Berger, the voice of GRIMLOCK, is also a guest!

So close... about an hour or so east.

Gandalf wrote:I also hope it's in Florida. That really increases the chances I'll be able to attend.

Come to the Sunshine State for Transformers goodness!

You speculated correctly, sir.

Especially since BotCon is on the WEST COAST this year. Depending on where you are, Florida may be closer.

You were close. JACON is Florida's most successful anime convention. With over 20,000 attendees total since 2000, this will be their tenth year!

Considering it's an ANIME con, playing "She's Got the Power" from Sailor Moon is a must.

I'm definitely going to Jacon now. That made up my mind. So who else is going. We might need a Floridian Seibertonian meeting during the weekend.

I had planned on taking my kids to Jacon cause they are more into Anime, but I am not crazy about Stan Bush doing a concert so will probably not go. I may make it to Megacon and always go to FX. Gregg Berger is a nice guy, I met him last year. According to the website, this is the last year for Jacon.
