Star Wars the radio play: Famous voice actors read Star Wars as their most famous roles

Postby Dead Metal » Sat May 26, 2012 9:16 am

Motto: "Don't do drugs, beer's cheaper anyway!"
So the Emerald City Comic Con held a special voice actor reading entitled Star Wars Trilogy: The Radio Play. In this famous and beloved voice actors re-enact/ read the original Star Wars, not the piece of slag prequels, while doing their most famous characters and celebrity impressions.

Here is a run-down of the voice actors we know from Transformers, with a selection of the TF voices they provided:

  • Tara Strong (Transformers Animated Sari, Slipstream, Daniel, etc. ...)
  • Jess Harnell (Transformers Movieverse Ironhide, Barricade)
  • Rob Paulsen (Transformers G1 Air Raid, Slingshot, etc. ...)
  • Maurice LaMarche (Transformers G1 Six-Gun, Rescue Bots Charlie Burns, Captain Shaw)
  • John DiMaggio (Transformers Dark of the Moon Leadfoot, TF: Prime Vogel)

The non-TF voice actors with a small selection of who they voice:
  • Billy West (Futurama Philip J. Fry, Ren& Stimpy as Stimpy)
  • Kevin Conroy (Batman TAS Batman)

Oh and it's all on youtube so if you want to see or rather hear Star Wars as played by Batman, Ironhide, Pinky and Brain, Bender, William Shattner, Christopher Walken, Stimpy, Fry and tooooooooooo many to list just click here or watch it embedded below!

Why shouldn't it be? It's made up to 80% of TF voice actors, some still active, features at least one TF Ironhide (haven't seen the whole thing yet) which makes this more in common with Transformers than Paramount delaying Gi Joe Retaliation, which we also posted.
Plus, it's awesome.

Well for one the voice actors in question are quite apparently not just known for their work in Transformers. And secondly, the topic has nothing to do with Transformers outside of those actors. Wasn't Ryan was trying to keep non-official TF news off the front page?

I know they're not primarily known for their TF work, but that doesn't take away the fact that 80% of them have worked in Transformers, are still popular amongst TF fans, oh and then there is the use of Movie Ironhide's voice in the radio play which I repeat makes it more valid to this site than the Gi Joe movie.

It's TF related.

Let's not have ANOTHER discussion about what should and should not be newsed. There's another thread for that.

This has as much to do with Transformers as Don Fig's Armarauders stuff...

Which we also posted due to who it's from.
Which is also why this is posted under "people news", as in news concerning "Transformers celebrities" and the like, we also post whenever one of our "celebrities" had an accident or start a project that is of interest to people even if it's not the least bit TF related, simply due to the interest our fandom has in these people and want to be keep up to date on them, but we won't cover their projects the same way we do their TF related work, which is why you cant find anything else concerning Armarauders on here except that the project has now started.

Also, my F**KING God, I'm the freaking news mod here, I've been doing this job for almost 5 years. Trust me I know what's news and what isn't.

Oh yea, it's best we keep to what Burn said and keep on topic.

Go off topic in this thread again after I told you not to and say hello to a nice shiney warning.

That goes for everyone else as well. If people feel the need to discuss what should and shouldn't be newsed on this site, discuss it here.
