Well, its a TRU exclusive, so usually stores to which it isnt exclusive to will jack up its price since they must buy it at a premium (unless its a shared exclusive).

Also, at only 60$, scalpers will jump on it like rabid wolves on lambs.

Well hopefully BBTS acts like rabid wolves and gets a bunch of them. They typically double whatever retail price is for exclusives, and even at $120 that's a nice savings from Japanese MP11 prices.

Why would you wish to pay double?

It's not a wish, but realistically, it's better to pay that then $200 for MP-11.

Yeah, dude, this is the improved mold. The older one has long airplane parts hanging off it's side, this one doesnt.

Ah, I think I got confused because I'm used to seeing Takara's MP numbering, not Hasbros. :BANG_HEAD:

In that case, please fill in the blank:

This year we have ____ more times the amount of werewolf transformers we had last year.

That is all I was trying to say.

The trick is, you can't really say that in that way. Well, you could, but it would be confusing and kind of meaningless. Any quantity multiplied by 0 is simple 0. So, if you were to "double" 0, it would still be zero. You just have to settle with saying, "this year, we have two more werewolf Transformers than we had last year."
Wait, werewolves? I don't remember any new triple changers.

Bingo. They were also going for around $400 at one point before the reissue, so yeah $120 isn't too bad in that perspective. In fact, Sunstorm is listed at $90 right now on BBTS, so we'll see what happens.

I think they're talking about Steeljaw's and Phantomjaw's robot modes as their "werewolf" forms, partly humanoid, partly lupine. Think of them as Beast Wars Fuzors, lol?

As for MP Starscream, as crazy as it sounds, I'm still considering investing in Takara's version at this point, if only to get the coronation gear. The Hasbro version IS very tempting, even if the price goes up to $80 USD once it's available in stores. The blue nosecone is a little bothersome, but I could put up with it, as it would be mostly hidden in robot mode, but I get the feeling that if Hasbro tweaked that one detail, they may have changed something else, like the color of gray plastic used. It's so hard to tell just from promotional shots how good a match it is to the Takara release in that regard.

I have never gotten a MP figure but I think this one will be the first I get because 1. I love Starscream 2. It appears to be a gorgeous figure and 3. The price is right. Can't wait, but knowing me I will want to get the other two Seekers once I get this one.

And as I am trying to tell you, as is Wolfman Jake, you cannot say that in any way. You cannot multiply by 0, the answer will always be 0.

You cannot multiply by infinity, it is not a number. Even if it were, infinity multiplied by 0 would still be 0.

You can say that "This year, we have 5 more wolf Transformers than we had last year." but you can absolutely never use the word "times" when comparing to 0.

If last year there was 1 wolf Transformer, then you can say that this year we have 5 times the amount of wolf Transformers we had last year. But you can never say infinitely more times.

Think of it this way, there are an infinite amount of numbers between 0 and 1. Given that truth, when you count, you would never actually get to the number 1 unless you rounded up. Problem is, there are an infinite amount of numbers between 0 and 0.1 and in fact an infinite amount of numbers between 0 and 0.00000...(infinite 0s)...1. All that to show how outrageous your original statement was.

The more you know!

You love Starscream, arent you?

Me too and my collection is prettiextensive. Here are some Starscreams that I could recommend:

Armada Starscream. Bricktastic, but is big and intimidating:
Image

Want to pay less and want Armada Starscream in deluxe size? Get Generations Armada Starscream. Accurate to a T, and more posable. It's an amazing mold. Also, cheap because it's from last year.

Image

Finally, go GIANT Cybertronian with Supreme Starscream, Master Of The Universe (with crown and all.)
You have the regular Cybertron version: (Hint: It's the big one)
Image
Or you have the Platinum Edition, who put him in G1 colors.
Image
Yeah, it's huge.

Finally, get the best Movieverse Starscream with the HFTD Leader. If size and price matter, the DOTM deluxe would do the job.:
Image
Both are incredible molds.

Happy hunting1

I've got the Platinum Supreme Starscream....& the only problem with it is you scrape the red chrome on his legs when transforming him into jet mode! coz fitting the lower leg section over the upper leg section is very tight....& it tends to scrape the chrome.

A very unfortunate design flaw. I transformed mine just ONCE and paid the price. He's not been touched since. That was an extremely disappointing purchase. :(

Will the Hasbro version of Takara Starscream be a straight up repackaging of the Takara version or will there be some differences?

Hasbro's version will have a "toy accurate" blue nosecone, while the Takara version has a "screen accurate" "unpainted" nosecone that matches the rest of Starscream's main fuselage. Any other differences won't be recognizable until we have Hasbro's version in hand, most likely. But the short answer is no, this Hasbro release will not be exactly the same as the Takara release (minus the coronation gear, of course).

A gift for all Canadian TF Fans: TRU Masterpiece Starscream for 47.75$ US

Postby william-james88 » Sat Aug 22, 2015 12:43 pm

Motto: "'till All Are One"
Remember when there was that great news for Americans that they could preorder their MP Starscream for a mere 60$ US? Well now it's our turn to celebrate because I will detail how you can get your MP Starscream for only 62.97$ cdn (which is equal to 47.75$ US). This is just 2$ more than the upcoming Leader Starscream at Toysrus. Toysrus is currently having a sale on all Transformers above 19.99$, including MP Blue Streak (still not a great deal for him though). Rainchecks for all SKN codes are available upon request, which is what I did. However, we also happen to know the SKN for the upcoming MP Starscream (065129), so by presenting that SKN, I was able to get a raincheck for MP Starscream at this deal. Meaning that I can buy him in store within the next 3 months and get him for 62.97$ cdn, and you can as well (you can also buy him full price online and then get credited when presenting your raincheck and receipt in store). The proof is in the photo below, which also shows the other codes for various Combiner Wars and RID toys that are also on sale. Also, as I got this raincheck, I was told that MP Starscream would be coming out in Canada in late August/early September.

Just a heads up, but there is a chance it might not work. The SKU could still be a place holder until the actual item is in stock (at which point the SKU can change).

I've done the same thing on a number of figures before they came out (Devastator, Jetfire, ect) and each time with no luck.

I honestly wish you the best of luck with it, and if it works, then that's amazing but if it doesn't don't feel down in the dumps about it :-P
