It really does bug me. Still, even if we had seen the scenes leading up to it, I'm still not comfortable with the fact that they did nothing at all. Trussed up like sheep, but they weren't even trussed. You'd think they could have come up with some kind of distraction. The idea they would all have been executed one after another, if Prime hadn't showed up, still chafes badly.

In fact, I find it out of character that the Decepticons would take prisoners, and it'd take a loser human to tell them to execute them. Damn I hate that spineless bastard.

That's a good question that WHY Decepticons are taking prisoners when no autobot ever had mercy in the movieverse for a Decepticon. Shattered Grass anyone?

Did any Decepticons make any motions of surrendering besides maybe Megatron at the end of DOTM, though? I can't recall any.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

My reviews of Transformers G1, one episode at a time. Stop by for a spell!

This was just a poor scene, and another in the long list of why this movie just plain sucked if you wanted to go deeper than just visuals.

I also hate it how the Autobots got easily caught, but not any of the NEST, Navy seals or Epps team. Come on, I am sick of these movies showing the Autobots to be incompetent against the Decepticons. The Optimus getting hung up in the wires was BS!

And how come no major good humans died? I thought we were supposed to get this ultra dark story?

Optimus getting stuck in wires didn't bother me at first. Till it took like 30 minutes and 3 additional autobots to get him done.
Like, in that whole slew of weapons, optimus doesn't have something that can cut through cables? He can rip apart decepticons faces, but if he gets tangled up, he's out of commission.

It was ridiculous! Watching it for a third time chafed like the first. You are absolutely right, couldn't he have extricated himself? It almost makes me suspect it was an attempt at humour, but given the gravity of the situation I hardly think it would be. Why the devil would they do an image buster like that?

It felt like me that is was the only way they could come up with segwaying to the other robots. Like they gave Prime so much screen time that they decided they needed him tangled up to buy time. They didn't want to hurt him, just get him off screen for a few minutes with a (feeble) plausible explanation of where he was and what he was doing. Answer: Just hangin' around.

It has nothing to do with "hearing what we want." No one's mother is going to say "You know, your current girlfriend is great, but I'd probably rank her right with your last one. You know, the one who dumped you."

Like it or not, Megan Fox's character could have been written out as a bad person, or killed off, but they instead had Sam date a different girl and basically just said "hey, things didn't work out."

it was a thouroughly unnecessary scene and a douche move by bay

That scene was mearly to give the wreckers some more screen time and to attempt to justify why Optimus wasn't present to rescue the Autobots during their capture. I agree that concidering that we all know he has a sword built into his arm he really should have been able to rescue himself. Unless his wing suit somehow blocked his sword from poping out... Doubt it though.
Decepticons... Com in get yo ice cream!.... And then get yo ass whop'in!!

Suck my popsicle!! :p

Exactly! That scene just popped up out of nowhere. One minute Bumblebee is rescuing Sam and Lennox, and the next thing you know he's about to be executed with the others. I really would have liked at least some sort of build up to that scene. There definitely seemed to be a few "missing scenes" in this movie.

Oh and how the heck did this get turned into yet another Megan Fox topic?
