I have called girls by the wrong name before. That usually kills a mood.

Haha, one time I was talking to my friend Rachel, when I suddenly remembered compute146's Optimus Prime statue (or whatever you wanna call it). So out of nowhere I said- "Hey, wanna see a seven foot Prime?", and she got emberassed and yelled at me, obviously thinking I meant something else. #-o What made it even worse was the fact that I was crazy about her, but at least I was able to explain myself and straighten everything out.

We have a sense of humor. But it dissapears when you mess with Texas. Also, our economy is in better shape than most of the rest of the country.

My friend Rachel was talking about a zit she thought she had, and UNFORTUNATLEY i was listening to the TWINCAST. As she was talking about it to some of her other friends, when i was looking her way. I reacted to some news by blurting out "THAT'S HUGE!"

Luckily i explained to her in time.

Give it 20 years when the oil dries up. :-$

I said "I'd rather be friends" or "p!ss off" (usually the latter, there were many vile girls at school) so many times at school girls were convinced I was gay. Great for killing your chances in your local area.

*edit* I just spelt "dries" as "drys". Jesus. :BANG_HEAD:

Turns out I don't have to say anything!

So ... the other day we had our band breakup, one woman, who happens to be my sort-of-didnt-go-out-long-enough-to-really-be-considered ex made a cheesecake and brought it along.

Unfortunately she had to leave as her son was upset so she asked me to drop the cheesecake dish in the next day.

No worries ....

I took the dish home and told my family they could have the rest. Turns out, bad thing to do!

I get an e-mail at work the next day from said woman who's having a bad day and wanted some cheesecake. I told her there was none left.

... wow. She became, in her own words, "f****ing p***ed off". I didn't bother replying, though I took the dish to her work at lunch time to give to her. Got the cold shoulder treatment I did!

She also un-friended me from Facebook.

Oh and yeah, all that happened on my birthday. Did she give me birthday wishes? NOPE!

I've since had a few brief words with her and apparently it was "not my right to decide who could eat the cheesecake".

Sounds like a lot of drama over a cheesecake...

Wait, she "unfriended" you over eating the cheesecake? That's funny.

I can't believe I'm even posting this...all because of a cheesecake!

I was talking to an ex gf long ago (she wasn't an ex at the time, obvs) and she mentioned that the term "fat" was very upsetting to her and she hated it whenever anybody had called her that in the past.

I said "so how do you feel about the term 'overweight'?"

It wasn't until she started crying I realised what I'd said.. :BANG_HEAD:

I've had so many instances of being crap around girls that I find it hard to remeber any specific moments, but that one sticks out. The worst thing about going to an all-boy grammar school is having zero social skills around people with more than half a brain when you leave, lol.
I'm a bit better now that I know that:
a) women are people too, and deserve to be treated/respected as such,
b) you can just be friends, despite what some douchebags say.

Although this may tend to lead to me overthinking and lead to me messing up anyway once I do meet someone I really really like. *sigh*

Let me take you back to prom night 2002:

I was on a double-date with my then-girlfriend, "Melissa." The other couple was my cocky friend, "Sam," and his date, whom he asked out two days before prom.

Mind you, when Sam said that he would find a date two days before prom, no one believed him. And when he said his date would be smokin' hot, too, well ****. That just ain't happening.

But it did.

And true to his word, he asked his date out two days before prom. I know this for a fact, because she confirmed it at dinner. Not to mention that she was definitely hot: blonde, skinny and short. Weighed as much as a paper-weight. The kind of girl that was so painfully out of my league at the time. Plus, she was cool. Sam kept his word.

At dinner the four of us had a good time. After I paid the check, we went our separate ways to prom.

While walking back to my car with Melissa, I said this clincher: The No. 1 stupidest thing I have ever said to a woman.

"You know Melissa, Sam's date may have had beauty, but you, you've got brains."

She gave me this look of complete disgust. "What do you mean I have brains! Of course I have brains, you don't think I'm beautiful?," she said in an accusatory tone.

"Well of course you're good lookin'..." No amount of backtracking could ever make up for what I said. It was the most awkward drive to prom you could have imagined.

Melissa never let me forget it.

It was probably awkward because you didn't follow it up with:

"YOU'VE GOT THE POWERRRRRRRRR... [Big swish of arm playing power chord on air guitar]... YEAAAHHHH!!!"

You've just gotta take it all the way with these things. ^__^

Hmm.

Dumbest thing I've probably ever said to a girl? Oh oh, I gotta great one. See, I work at the mall, at what's known as Claire's, a girl accessary store. Now theres this really cute hairdresser girl next door, and I've had a crush on her for basically the whole time I've been working there. Anyway, I finally talked to her one day, and the things I told her about how I also cut hair (my own and a bunch of my friends, because screw paying for a haircut), and that I was an avid artist.

So the three things she knew about me after that first ever talk was that I cut hair, work at a girl's store, and was an artist, aka three red flags. When I finally got to take her out to dinner, the first thing I told her was that I was very much into women /:)
