Almost sold on OP. Aw, who am I kidding?! I'm definitely buying the toy! Alt mode looks nice, and it even comes with a race queen fig!

That price is all the paint tampos and stickers.
Look how much work will have to go into each model coming out.
Those are basically 1:32 scale replica's, that transform into highly articulated robots.

These actually look pretty good...but not $100+ a pop good. Maybe if they were alt/BT size they could get away with the asking price. Probably have 3rd Party to blame for that, though. We're dumb enough to pay those prices there, why not here, too? Glad these are pretty insignificant figures to anything outside their own strange continuity.

Actually, the extra price goes towards both the content and share of profits. The tampos and stickers are said to be part of the collaboration, while everything else will cost money.

More importantly, I am wondering if they had made an extra effort into fixing the issues tied to the original Alternity model. However... I have to pull out of the race, when it comes to these, for two reasons.

1) I have one of two possible 2013 trips to plan out and pay for.

2) In three weeks, my first anniversary (as a collector) will be here, and I have decided that I want to be focusing on Generation One for most of "Year Two." :-B

Now if you do not mind...I have a conundrum to figure out. :BOOM:

I mean the actual act of having those tampos put on the toy, that's a lot of paint, stickers, human labor per piece to do.

Oh yeah... Increased labor costs. #-o

I forgot that they are not producing all their pieces in China these days. :HEADHURTS:

I might just cave in and get myself a prime...

StarSaber, as much as I love the guy, just looks off with the plain blue. Needs more white and red to balance it out, IMO.

I was thinking the same about Star Saber! I mean with Ultra Magnus and Dai Atlas, their Alternity colors fit them like a glove (even though many thought that Dai Atlas should have gotten a head sculpt). But with Saber, I felt that they should at least have considered reversing the color scheme so the red would have better complicated the blue.

But on the bright side... They are not sporting a large Autobot symbol that tends to explain why most of the Autobots (*cough*Sideswipe*cough*) were killed off long before season 3 happened.

From the twitter feed of Bluesmobile325 we have additional color images of Takara Tomy's upcoming Super GT Optimus Prime and Star Saber, who are currently on display at the Fuji Speedway, in their race car modes. These figure are remold/repaints of their previously released Alternity Convoy mold that will include a race queen figure. Images mirrored below.

I was very interested in the original Alternity Convoy until I saw the side profile. Shoulders not aligned with head and body, like Titanium Ultra Magnus. Not acceptable for such high priced toy.

Here's a small update for the previously reported news of the Takara Tomy's Super GT figures on display at the Fuji International Speedway, the prototype of Optimus Prime also made an appearance. Once again these images come to us from the Bluesmobile325 twitter feed. This figure along with Star Saber and Fortress Maximus versions will be released next year.
