On the plus side, I think both of my TRU anniversary ones survived. I think. One wasn't in the same room as the fire while the other one was further away from the fire itself.

That's good. And you're alright that's a plus.

I'm so sorry to hear about this, crazyfists. I didn't see this post until today. I hope that you and your family are OK.

How did the insurance company help you with your collection?

Everyone is ok, thanks.

Our insurance only covered up to a specific amount for all of my collectibles. That being said, I reached that limit easily with just my TF collection. I have no idea how much of it I'll actually be seeing or what was agreed to or if I'll even be able to get back what I lost. Everything was deemed a lost and any pieces I was able to recover I could keep. Sadly I think the only things that survived were not my G1 stuff or the stuff I had left sealed and what did make it has not been gone through yet. So to answer your question they only really help with giving money that won't cover your entire collection.

What I pulled out of the house are still locked up in a storage unit, but I was in there briefly to pull out some stuff (one of which was a TF poster to have framed - the condition was good and there was no fire/smoke damage, just regular wear). That Jetfire is in far worse condition than I thought it was. I think his head is melted. The Punch-Counterpunch (not pictured) I think is ok. I also saw an Astrotrain reissue (this one) which I have not taken out, but it does not look very good, just okay. I had to pry it out of the package like Soundblaster.

More pictures will come once we start to go through the junk (everyone else's stuff) in there.

Wow that was painful to watch, but I'm glad no one was seriously hurt. :-(

That is really sad. Looking at fireproof boxes and cupboards online now. Best wishes mate

Jesus, I couldn't imagine. Almost cried looking though the pictures. It's great to know there were no KIAs, MIAs, and WIAs in the family. Best of luck to you and the rebuilding of your collection!

One of my Jetfires lived, but he was also in a separate bin then the rest of my G1 figures.

The yellowing was "normal" but worse post smoke damage such as seen below.

Grapple was mostly okay except for some melted tires and side/front chrome. He was melted to the plastic inside the package.

Inferno came out perfectly fine.

The damage to my reissue Astrotrain was quite extensive like Soundblaster. Melted front, wings, and aft. I didn't have time to try to transform him, but I think he's too damaged to do so properly.

The Punch-Counterpunch was fine, but this is what the Jetfire looked like.

I'm not 100%, but I think these are the last of the loose TF I found. I *think* a box of G2 survived, but I have yet to go through it.

Don't know if this helps, but that surviving Jetfire looks even more majestic than usual, just knowing what he was up against. And the damaged one looks pretty cool as well, just sayin'. Glad you have managed to salvage some of your collection.

The first one is fine, but the other one, no matter how cool it looked, was far too damaged and smelled. It's not just the physical damage but the smell. Hopefully more is safe somewhere in the piles of bins. If anyone remembers Dino Riders that bin was melted open and I have yet to see if I can salvage those.

Quick update: G2 survived. All of them. In that bin were also my Battle Beasts. A Toy'R'Us reissue of Perceptor was also quiet fine in his package as well as my sealed (well not anymore) reissue Soundwave (also Toys'R'Us).

So out of my G1 stuff I think I only have a Sky Lynx (smoke damaged), Jetfire (smoke damaged), Kup, and Punch-Counterpunch.
