heres hoping they get a US release

OMG awesome news! And unfortunately I have to preorder them both. XD What about Blue/Silverstreak?

So awesome. Cannot wait for preview images. The classics mold was pretty awesome, so it'll be interesting to see how this can top it while being even more faithful to G1 Prowl.

Other than head molds and color schemes, do you think there will be any other differences between Prowl and Smokescreen? Wonder what their accessories will be... Smokescreen will surely have something related to his G1 spotlight episode (The Gambler, right?). Maybe Prowl will have something related to Chip Chase?

Ironhide / Ratchet seem inevitable both for their popularity and being able to get two great characters from one mold.

The only way they can be more faithful is if they turn into Fairlady Z's

This could get expensive for me quickly.

Awesome, but why does Bluestreak always seem to take a backseat to Prowl and Smokescreen? If they're not Fairlady Nissan Z's then I'm not going to bother.

This is why i stopped collecting deluxe figures and went to only masterpiece figures!! They are on a roll!! Now i want a masterpiece ironhide and rachet. There g1 figures were horrible!!! Come on takara

*Cough!* Bluestreak! *Cough!*

I got a feeling that bluestreak or silverstreak will be a TRU exclusive like how they got mp-11 thundercracker. Just a thought

I wondering what the next 200$ price point fig will be..

Shockwave?
Renewal Megatron?
Blaster?

I wouldnt count on all the Autobots. Volkswagen, Jeep, and Corvette may not be as willing to license their old school cars to Hasbro. Same thing with who ever owns the Wheeljack or Mirage race cars. Maybe Trailbreaker/Hoist since it was a GM vechicle.

Trailbreaker and Hoist are Toyota brand trucks, which falls under the Toyota Motor Corporation, or TMC. TMC currently owns the Toyota, Scion, Lexus, Daihatsu and Hino Motors brands.

This is getting outta control man. It's going to be rough trying to pay for all these awesome mp's. I'm still waiting for a real Megatron or Galvatron. I still haven't got coronation Starscream or Grimlock, wtf!

If they changed VW's minds for the Lambo rights, then everyone else will fall in line. I'm sure Nissan is happy with the coolness of the Alternity GTR's. My guess is these will be original Z's.

As far as everyone else, they got Binaltech's, and with older models, most companies aren't trying to make money of old designs. I'd say there's a good shot at getting everyone, with only BB, Jazz and CJ being the two biggest pain in the asses

Sorry guys, but I'm a little confused. Do we know if these are new molds? Or are these remolds/retools/repaints/whatever of the Sideswipe mold? I feel like I'm missing something that everybody else is seeing. Or are we just speculating until we get some official pics? Like I said...I'm confused, but very interested to learn more and see some pictures!

I hope they're new molds because I can't justify spending $80 for each of these no matter how cool they are if they're just repeats of Sideswipe.

For G1 and their reissues, a lot of characters were created using a limited amount of unique molds. The list goes a little like this:

Lamborghini Countach: Sideswipe, Red Alert, Tigertrack, Clamp Down, Deep Cover
Nissan Datsun/Fairlady Z: Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen
Toyota 4WD Hi-Lux: Trailbreaker, Hoist
Onebox Cherry Vanette: Ironhide, Ratchet

Since Masterpiece strives for accuracy, we're 100% certain Prowl will be a new mold with Smokescreen and possibly Bluestreak as his retools, like in G1.

The newest Masterpiece to be announced before Prowl and Smokescreen was Tigertrack, who WILL be a repaint of MP Sideswipe, since the original (e-Hobby) Tigertrack was also a repaint/redeco of Sideswipe.

We can't be 100% sure until we see them, but I'm almost positive that they'll be a new, shared mold.

Thanks guys! That makes perfect sense. I'm excited about (eventually) seeing the new mold for Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen. Though again, I will likely only be getting one of this mold. That honor goes to Prowl! Definitely up there as far as my G1 favorites. I appreciate the information. This gives me something (else) to look forward to!

This is kinda funny. I decide to throw in the towel with the MP line and all these new figures. Doesnt change my mind but there are other figures I decided I would rather put the money toward.

As for Smokescreen being chosen over Bluestreak, me thinks it has something to do with the fact Smokescreen had more retooling done in G1. Whereas Bluestreak simply has the lightbar removed, Smokescreen has an added spoiler and new front end.

Yeah, this is pretty nice news, can't wait to see how they will be done, but... I wanted a Megatron Version 2/Galvatron...

You forgot Reflector. Reflector looking like he did in the cartoon is a must have, in my opinion.

I would also like the Insecticons, and the Constructions(even if they don't form Devastator, though I would prefer that they did.)

I would really love to get a MP Perceptor! I know that he might not be able to translate well into a remold of another figure, but I think he would be a fantastic masterpiece figure! All of your suggestions are great too though! Just adding my two cents.

I was JUST last night (ogling my new MP Sideswipe) ruminating over how badly the Autobots outnumber the cons in the MP department (only a barrage of MP Coneheads can save us now!), and thought to myself "It's only a matter of time before they do Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen to get the most mileage possible out of a mold." Nevertheless, I welcome the idea with open arms; Bluestreak's a favorite of mine.

I wonder if he's not been announced yet because how virtually near-identical he is to Prowl (doesn't seem to be stopping Sideswipe/Red Alert/Tigertrack), or because they're trying to maybe clear up legal issues with his name? I know he's gone back and forth between Bluestreak/Silverstreak for some time now.

Calling it now: Masterpiece Blue Bluestreak for an E-hobby or Amazon.jp exclusive.
