For everybody who keeps bringing up that so called "official scale chart" wasnt it created years later in the 90s to squash arguements like this one ? That damn chart has nothing to do with the 1986 cartoon and played no influence in the original G1 artists depiction of scale. The chart was has/taks way of saying "forget all the inconsistencies you saw in the cartoon, this is our new bible now, deal with it". Quite frankly, they bumped the mini bots down to crappy penny racer toy scale. Im not going to say that scale wasnt seen in the cartoon, but the better looking scout scale was used just as much in the cartoon. Especially when he became goldbug. Who ever invented that scale chart for hasbro made some stupid decisions based on G1 microman toy scale and ignored both real life and the cartoon altogether. Somebody print out that chart so I can use it as toilet paper...

Nnnnnnno, cuz, it came from Sunbow's production archives with the rest of the original character models that Jim Sorensen and Bill Forster put together for Ark books.

Companies don't make new production materials for shows they've halted production on years earlier.

And, really, to make such a chart years after the fact just to quench silly fandom arguments seems really petty for a professional television production company to really give a darn about.

Also, 1984 cartoon, dude.

Well I think the scale will be fine. All I need is for the scale to be more accurate in vehicle mode then in bot mode. But anyways, I will be buying this guy as well as UM. And isn't Wheeljack released already!

This August 2014 kimosabe.

If this was already mentioned............my bad but just realized this. Wheeljack and BB are the first 2 transformers to ever appear in TV. Remember in MTMTE episode 1? Both buddies were busy scrounging for energy resources before the Ark's launch. Energy conductors iirc correctly. Now both guys are getting a release one after the other.

Curious ... if scale is such an issue, and it's clear that the robot mode is in scale which stuffs up the vehicle mode scale ... and if that is such an issue, then you're obviously going to be displaying him in vehicle mode, then why not go out and track down a scale model car and just slap an Autobot logo onto it?

Not an engineer but if you try to make the car scale go along with the robot scale.........I don't think it's possible. And, isn't their robot mode taking precedence over the car scale?

And, well based on the fiction, they also had the mass shifting doohickey. That being the case, Soundwave and the Seekers are way off scale in their alternate modes.

I've brought that up to those people before, they just get angry.

I love this, it looks great in colour, plus the scale is perfect. Just a little miffed about the back wheel thingy being all yellow instead of black for the tire part.

:-?
Browsing the newer magazine scans of the MP Bumblebee, Ive just spotted the shoulders of this little bug and they appear to be ball jointed just like his Classics version!
I guess being such a small sized figure they felt ratchet shoulders where not necessary, but still....

I am not too concerned with the ball joints. The MP Datsuns have ball jointed shoulders as well.

@robotmel

Sharp eye kimosabe.

Hopefully the ball joints won't wear off too easily.

Does anyone have more info about the spare tire on his backpack? The tire can be seen in some bot images but not all. And has anyone seen the spare tire in alt mode?

It's removable.
Yes we have, the first alt-mode pic had it, remember the argument it caused?

Nice car and bot mode. Only thing off-putting is the face plate sculpt and the price... $60 for that tiny bot? NOPE!
