Our Japanese friend Alfes 2010 has posted a gallery of Takara Tomy's Transformers Arms Micron AM-20 Ironhide. We've mirrored some of his images below, the full gallery including images of the figure prior to being stickered can be found by clicking here.

Looks pretty good. Too bad BBTS is sold out. I do hope Hasbro releases him eventually, I like their weapons a lot more and paint would probably look better than the stickers.

Thats not Ironhide is it? Really? :-?

This kind of down grade must be a little concerning for fans who like these Arms Microns (well, everyone actually!) who have to pay a premium price for what looks like an upscaled knock off (reminds me of the KO Perfect Effect Reflector)?

Is this a 'sign of the times' where once large, heavy, Deluxe-Class figures are now just a shadow of their former selves?

In fact, lets create a new class... Zombie-Class, a hollow shell of their former selves, lacking in weight, life and character!

Dr. Wu can create more heads and limbs inspired by the Zombie-Class look. They dont even have to do a full head mold being Zombie-Class, just half a head will do!

Hello Takara/Hasbro, write this down...!!!

I don't get it, what do you mean by downgrade?

We know that figures are, by now, either mostly hollow or just cheat on panels and transformation, we know they're smaller than they were, and we've know this mold to be the PRiD Deluxe Kup/Ironhide for a while now (and it's more or less the same in Cyberverse format).

What's your issue with this figure in particular? :-?

:-?
His head looks off in my opinion, odd looking?

The down grade refers to the lack of Transformer! All them hollowed out parts just really stood out in the pictures displayed. It just really got to me this morning!

Zombie-Class!!!! :D

I wonder if there will be a Voyager version which stands around the height of older Classics Deluxe-class coming later?

Sorry if Im ranting! :michaelbay:

This looks like a crudely upscaled Kinder Egg toy.

Unfortunately, so does most of HasTak's recent output.

I wasn't going to bother with Ironhide unless he appeared in the show, but that's a very nice red they've used. Of course getting him also means getting Kup for the twin cannons. :-x

He does look tempting, but only a single cannon... I may have to get him now and wait for the 5-piece Arms Micron set, which includes a repaint of that Mini-Con.

Hmm, :-? :-? Strange. Initially I really want this figure but after seeing these pictures, I kind of want to pass it. Truck mode looks good but the whole robot just doesn't look.................. right.

I thought about importing this, but there are too many things I don't like about it:

Micron warts (actually they're more like open sores than warts) on the doors.
Only one gun.
Possibly the most boring Micron yet.
Why is the Micron orange? Looks terrible with the red truck.

I like the mold itself, it's all the details that ruin this one.

The Truck mode looks great, robot mode though not so much. Just something about those "blinders" on either side of his head really turn me off. I know we've seen these before, but with the new angles in which the pictures were shot we got more detail about it. I'd rather just mistransform him and leave those on his back. Not worth the money to import, but eh....lets see if Hasbro releases it and I may change my mind. lol

I find it impossible to believe that Hasbro won't make Ironhide. It's not as if the mold was made for Kup and Ironhide would be the repaint/retool of him. They're identicle aside from the colors and Ironhide is too popular of a character for them to skip. Not to mention how hasbro loves straight repaints.

The G1 version couldn't see too well either.

I love him, and I'll give him an extra cannon and paint both of them black! ;)

Before you judge the figure too harshly, bear in mind that the figure in the photos is slightly mistransformed. There's an additional hinge in the hip assembly that's supposed to bring the legs further down below the crotch piece and provides better leg articulation. If you transform the figure without instructions, it's actually pretty easy to miss. Actually, looking at the instructions, you can STILL miss it if you're not paying attention (like me! :D)

Compare the figure to the Sergeant Kup review that was posted by Peaugh, and compare the legs on both. He should look better, standing taller, and is better proportioned. (Peaugh also has an alternative transformation that makes for a good means of making the two look different from each other in robot mode!)

I picked up Kup in the Philippines, and he's quite a decent figure. I don't really notice any hollowness, as he tabs in pretty well in the chest and arms. Transformation is a bit finicky in some parts, and the truck hood being the worst part, but that can be fixed. I was considering repainting him to look more like movie Ironhide, but the green version is starting to grow on me.

My only real complaint? I have to put up with multilingual packaging that shrinks his bio to a single sentence. :P

Good question... I'm more into Ironhide to be honest, but maybe the Micron's to blame for that  Maybe once we get a Prime Blurr and Springer i'll consider Kup too.

Actually, this mold has not been retooled for Arms Micron. The amount of post holes present were already sufficient. Imagine that.
