TF Classics preview

Postby Ra88 » Thu May 25, 2006 3:59 pm

The Official Member's club posted member-only previews of Optimus Prime, Starscream, Astrotrain, Hot Rod and a preview of what's appearantly either Smokescreen/Jazz/Runamuck/Bumblebee. Strangely enough you can access it through their page without being a member, so I'll just post their pics here. If any mod objects, feel free to remove them.

They all look good, but Screamer just seems...Off. Waaaaay to wide, and his cannons are to big as well. And he strangely feels more like the War Within version, while he definately looks like the G1 version. :?

You know, I just bought Excellion because he was such a great Hotrod homage and now I see this. God damn I hate being a consumer whore.

These look F-ing sweet. I love the nod to energon Rodimus with that gun and crown paint. I really think they just took the head off Galaxy Force Screamer. Hot damn I can't wait to see Megs. Gonna snatch these things up in bear trap.

P.S. - My bet is on BB for the shadow bot.

I've heard quite a few guesses on the mystery bot between here and TFW (BB, Mirage?, Ironhide, Kup), but I'm going to have to go with Cliffjumper. It definately has the tail fin and the boxy sharp corners to the car mode. Though the little bike or jetski thingy coming off the back does confuse me quite a bit.
till all are one.

I actually really dislike this starscream. He just looks fat. Not really built, just chunky. Reminds me of crappy G2 comic art where proportions ment nothing.

That's why I'm confused, their own link leads to a section for non-members (although it doesn't work for some :? ).

I'd say that one is going to be Bumblebee. I get that kind of vibe from it.

Hasbro's website has posted the pics, including Megatron, and they say that Bumblebee will be part of the first wave of deluxes. So there you go. the Shadow bot is in fact BB.

its like a merge or megs colours and galvatron with the purple and the cannon

Each character in the TRANSFORMERS Classics line will have a more detailed face and body, resulting in a more comparable appearance to the character seen on the original TV show and animated movie. The first wave of the DELUXE CLASS figures will include Bumblebee, Rodimus, Astrotrain, STARSCREAM and will be available in November at the approximate retail price of $9.99) Optimus Prime, and Megatron VOYAGER CLASS figures will be also be available in November at the approximate retail price of $19.99. All figures recommended for ages five and up and available at mass merchandise retailers nationwide

hmmm i think i am over the age limit lol!

also i take astro train dosent change into a train anymore from the look of the images just the shuttle mode shown

Prime looks fantastic!

Megatron.....I'm torn. I like the fact that he's a gun, but don't like the Nerf Gun look. I understand why, but just don't like it. He's going to get repainted.

Astrotrains pretty cool.

Hot Rod looks amazing.

Starscream is the frickin sweetest thing I've ever seen, next to MP Starscream. I'm loving all the new SS toys. :D

I'm kind of dissapointed with that Megatron. He's something of a shell former. Doesn't look much like his G1 cartoon incarnation, either. At least he's got a faction insignia. He's deffinately a repaint candidate. Wouldn't mind modding his gun kibbble to fold up behind his back, instead of out past his shoulders.

Astrrotrain still has a train mode. Somebody found upainted prototype photos a while back. He turns into a bullet train, The nose of the train splits into the engine bulges. Hell, you can see the train wheels on the top of the shuttle mode.

I'll have to buy 2 of this megatron. one to paint in all silver and red and one to cram a nerf dart launcher in somehow and keep the colorcheme.

So is Megatron the next Supersoaker?

I realize the restrictions with the laws on guns but at least make it look similar to a gun and cast it in different colors! I bet a scratchbuilt Megs would be a lot better and wouldn't adhear to import laws... That gives me an Idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surprisingly I like the gun form. it's just those colors that scream nerf to me or supersoker for that matter. they have been getting pretty wild with their designs lately haven't they

That Megatron gun reminds me of a WH40K stubgun or similar. I will probably get every single one of these.
