Maxed out both of my characters, so now I'm saving myself for the real thing.

Not too crazy about melee being the right stick, kinda awkward for me. Still, overall looks awesome

I felt the same way, shame you couldn't customize it. It caused quite a few deaths for me

So is there a ranking system from what u can see? like u gain xp and unlock items and your level is shown in lobby ect?

Or it could just be a misunderstanding one one the sites. Because i don't think they would have it at 4 a side in TDM or Conquest. My guess is on both systems it's either 10, or possibly 12 with 5 or 6 on each side.

well as far as i've read, a couple of sources xbox said it's up to 10, while ps3's site was the only one that was specific as far as how many players can play in one match which was 8.

so i guess the total that we can have no matter what is 10. i'm just expressing what i've noticed. i mean don't get me wrong, i would be pissed if i bought the ps3 version n it's only up to 8. well the pro about it though is would be less lag lol. but if they made it like other games like battlefield, the PC version might have even more! just imagine a 16vs16 tdm! i'd be all up for that!

but nonetheless, i just think the more the merrier!

na pc version has no exclusive dlc and no support. it will be left in the dark just like my pc version of bad company 2....seing the patch notes today from DICE makes me sad. ...they just abandoned pc. PS3 all the way baby!

Oh i know. I just said it could be a misunderstanding on someones part since 4-on-4 TDM doesn't sound too right for a game like this, no matter which platform it's on. And as we can see in the 360 demo videos it seems to be 5-on-5 TDM there, which i don't see any reason it wouldn't be the same on PS3. Actually though, i think some modes allow for bigger teams, so that could be where some misunderstanding/confusion came from on those max player numbers. Cause i think regular deathmatch(free-for-all) was supposed to be 8, while all the others were 10, with 5 on each side.

I didn't examine the peripherals. I logged in, created my character and went shootin'. I did gain xp and it looks like there were 3 slots for upgrades but I didn't play around with it. Was too excited to finally be on Cybertron.

@ RogueDeathangel the classes are scout, scientist, soldier, and leader. there isn't a tank class. the ones available on the demo are scout and soldier.

Don't even get me started on the XBOX 360/PS3 Fanboy debate. Honestly it all comes down to personal preference, what you want to do with the system (is it strictly gaming or will it be a multimedia entertainment hub) and what titles you enjoy. In the end I went with both, and got the kids the wii;) I don't want to miss a thing;)

Anyways, I got to sit down with it for about two hours total last night and this morning, and I'll say it's pretty good. There are a few quirks here and there, but I'm sure the full game and updates in the future should help those issues. My two biggest problems; the melee system and transforming. The melee system is a mess, from swinging and missing opponents by a mile, and Scouts being able to put down a Soldier with relative ease, I really hope that this is just a thing with the demo.

My other issue is accidentally transforming. I love how it's easily to transform back and forth... it's seamless, but that can become a problem in close quarters combat. I've gotten into a good brawl, just to unexpectedly transform in the middle and get curbstomped while trying to transform back.


But other than those issues, I've got no major complaints, and I'll be right there to pick up my copy at GameStop.

BTW my tag on XBL and PSN is: GDX76 for anyone interested in playing

You can do something about that in the full version, Matt said(i don't remember which one of the millions of interviews) you could switch the transform button to the Y/Triangle button

Yeah, no matter who I'm playing as, the scouts always melee me and pretty much insta-death me every time I try to do the same back but fail miserably. I wan to map Melee to the X button, but I doesn't seem like I can. I am having a blast though, I just don't live longer than a few seconds at a time once I'm spotted. I think however I might get more out of co-op multiplayer instead. I also can't wait for the other 2 classes, I don't think Scouts and soldiers are my bag. I've always been far more adept with support roles.

I don't want to get caught up in the console war, just the robot war please.

being a PS3 owner myself, I have thought of possible robbery, but with my luck the kid wouldn't have a live account

Now, being a gamer myself, I think the logical reason for what we have infront of us is this:
Basically, most games are coded and made for the XboX, as it is the lowest standard (this is not a jab at XboX, simply a fact). Also, I feel the developers mentioned enough they wanted to have a 'gears of War' feel so they developed and tested alot of the code on the XboX before even doing so on PC (which would have been simpler). If you were a nut for thsi game and watched the many itnerviews, previews, and gameplay footage of the game early, you would notice it was on XboX. This leads me to thinking that they most likely had the raw code for the demo that they showed the critics, and basically threw it up as a Demo. Porting over that code would have been troublesome, and could have caused many glitches on the PS3 version which probably would effect sales for that market. So they went with the simple release.

Now this is not to say the port for the PS3 will be bad. But alot of people thing the code you get for the demo is just code ripped off the Disk you buy at the store, which isn't true. As it's different code, that's where problems could lie.

So really I don't think it's playing 'favorites' it just seems like like had to put out a demo, and this is what they had to offer for a demo.

Now sadly, as a PS3 owner, I must wait, and try not to go bonkers watching the raw footage people have posted.

Take a freaking chill pill, guys. It's a demo, not the cure for cancer. It would surprise me if it lasts an hour. What's so important about it that you need to get this worked up over who gets a demo and who doesn't?

No matter what console you own, internet isn't free. You still have to pay for service.

And XBL Gold isn't all that expensive, it's only $8 per month. I'm unemployed and I could still manage that.

That said, I have a PS3, I don't own a 360. I'm just mature enough to realize that a demo that's coming out in only a couple weeks is a trivial matter and not worth getting so worked up over.

I can't believe it, but you're turning this place into the Steam Forums. You wouldn't believe the sheer number of people who went ballistic over the delayed early access to the Left 4 Dead 2 demo, despite the fact that they had nothing to complain about. (The demo was free, but early access meant you got a $5 discount as well. It literally cost $-5)

So back to the topic, what does everyone think of the game so far? I know there's some of us have issues with transforming by accident or melee'ing or using a sniper etc. Since I myself have problems with it especially getting "timed out". If this happens on the real game, alot of people would be upset coz we don't get exp everytime that happens so they should at least fix that!

I'm haveing a lot of fun with it despite my lack of skills. Today in particular I kept transforming by accident when I wanted to melee. I'm finally getting the hang of things though. Still can't wait for retail

Being limited to videos(stupid exclusive, which could end up hurting their sales if you ask me, have a friend whose not a huge TFs fan but likes shooters but since he can't get hands on demo he's thinking of waiting til it drops to $30-$20) I think i'm going to love it. Only thing i'm not too sure about right now from the captures i've seen are the energon health regenerating cubes. Seems those could become exploited once they're more figured out in time. Other than that, i really see no problems yet.

Ya, my friends in my clan who think this will be a "kids game" or a bad movie spin off. But I had hoped to push a demo on them to show them they were wrong. But we're all PS3 players, so they will miss out on a chance of a good game without the demo.
