Thats one friendly looking rhino. The cute face makes him look like a Playskool petting zoo figure.

TFC going the extra mile to give added sculpted details on the backs of the animals is a nice touch.

I just saw a video review of TFC's not-Rampage and in addition to looking frickin' AMAZING, he is also a Powercore Combiner apparently. That's nifty that they included that gimmick in him and I wonder if they've done the same with any of the other limb-bots for this set.

I'm tempted to ship my POL to get my hands on him and their not-Headstrong but I'm trying to hold out until more of the upcoming Has/Tak stuff drops into my POL before I do.

Damn. I might have to get TFC's Divebomb despite committing to FeralRex because the wings looks so awesome =P~ . Doesn't look as bad as before now. Still not a fan of the blocky legs and overall busy colors, but great nonetheless.

Yes, those pictures do the combined mode a great justice...

I don't think I can reasonably display 4 Predakings here.

They certainly do - he looks surprisingly good! Still not a fan of TFC's choices, but Ares looks a whole lot more coherent now than before.

Looks really good. I would say whether you went MMC with this guy or TFC you really can't lose. If I had an endless supply of cash I would get both. Im pot commited to MMC at this point but did struggle with which to go with at first. It was the leg design that swayed me in the end.

Yep, those legs are kinda blocky, but on the plus side, they don't look like pears (seriously, cannot unsee :P).

X is right about that sword though. I had to buy UT's not-Razorclaw just to secure their sword for him because this:

...and this:

...any day of the week. TFC's looks like (as X put it) an orange surfboard, and MMC's looks like a golden surfboard (at least in its fully combined form) and I'm not a big fan of broadswords in general, especially ones that get wider as they work their way towards the tip. They remind me too much of cartoony crap like this:
Image

UT's sword just looks amazing.

Anyway, TFC's combined mode is a hell of a lot closer to what I was expecting when I saw MMC's initial teaser. I guess for whatever reason my imagination made it look a lot better than it ended up being and I'll proudly display him with 4 thumbs on those wicked looking mechanical claw hands of his. That arm cannon looks awesome too. I think this is the first time I've seen it.

I'm still snagging 2 of each of TFC's just so I can display them in combined and beast modes.

Because, you know, it's not like Predaking was a cartoon character or anything. :P

While I do dig UT's sword, I still prefer MMC'c weapon.

BTW, the wide tipped sword is generally called a falchion, and they were common weapons in the Middle Ages. The wide tip added mass to the end of the blade, and this gave more armor penetration to the sword, basically combining the good points of a sword and an axe.
Most historical falchions are single bladed (only 1 side was sharp) but you can find examples of them with edges on front and back of the blade. :-B

I'm sure you're right, but they just look way too hokey for me.

While the combiner form has better human proportions than Feral Rex, those crappy red cannons ruin the figure. The two shoulder cannons look like giant red Hasbro kiddie missile launchers. And his arm cannon has a nice red safety cap to abide by US toy gun regulations lol.

And let me not get started on the scale of the individual figures compared to their leader. MMC won the battle.

I agree Unique toys has the best sword. But I can see Renderform or Dr. Wu giving us a sword we all really love no matter which Predaking we bought. I see it coming from a mile away...

Those cannons are fully detachable so I'm sure Dr Wu, some other third party, or even TFC themselves, will come out with a set in all black.

I like the way they look, though, so I won't be looking for an 'upgrade'. I dig all the red details, and those cannons just help to complete that look.

If you like them, you like them! I think the "well, Dr. Wu might make a replacement later" is a much weaker justification for getting something than "I like it!" ;)

Right, I was just responding to X's comment that the cannons 'ruin the figure'. I was pointing out that those are detachable accessories, and that due to being easily detachable (and therefor replaceable), are an easy enough quibble to rectify.

Besides, this is TFC we're talking about here. When have they NOT done an add-on set for one of their combiners :P?

They're probably already listening to all of this feedback and designing a sword and cannon set (and head set if anyone's complaining about that anywhere, though I haven't heard any complaints about it so far) to release after not-Divebomb comes out.

Just need their not-Divebomb now. I can't wait :)! I've got a lot of stuff yet to hit my PoL, but once not-Divebomb comes in (assuming the preorder will be up soon and it will be in stock shortly thereafter) I think I'm gonna go ahead and ship it. I'm too anxious to see all those beautiful beasts and their completed not-Predaking in person. I'm gonna have to clear off some serious shelf space to fit not-Predaking and all 5 members in beast mode but it'll be sooo worth it :).

Ooooohhhhhhh. Now, you're talking. I do like some of these molds, and if TFC were to repaint them, I might get those. A Deathsaurus repaint from this would be quite nice. Great idea there megs!!
