In all honesty I might still pick it up. My big gripe about it is the fact that the Slag character on one side outweighs the Swoop character on the other side. It looks super uneven.

But didn't anyone notice that there seems to be PROTECTOBOTS in that picture?! I mean, Groove doesn't look much like Groove, but C'MON! I want to know more about THAT set!

Those are toys for the Star Cats Rescue Team cartoon, a non-TF related project. They have hinted at a possible Defensor repaint though.

What the eff? Star Cats?! GIMME DEFENSORS!

In reality, though, if they repaint as Defensor, I'm DEFINITELY getting that. He's my favorite combiner.

All i can see is an Ultra class Protoform Optimus Prime when combined.

I really don't care for those dinobots too much, but I am definitely interested in those Star Cats Rescue Team (defensor repaint). Have any robot mode pictures popped up for that set yet?

Now that i see a coloured image of the Dinobot combiner i do like the details of the combined mode, but i could care less about how the individual bots look. I think TFC should take a look at the actual creatures or the G1 versions, because they look terrible now.

Well, isn't this just screaming for more paints. I don't mind the color choices, or not seeing them as a THE Dinobots, but those are some big seas of grey going on.

Wow... the combined head is awf atrocious. I am not feeling the skull/beak face at all. I assume the mortarboard crest has to be that way, but that's not a nigh-invincible combiner face; that's a transformer's crossover with Angry Birds. Maybe if you lost the teeth and nostrils.

What did they steal a truckload of Hasbro's signature grey plastic ??? I expect better from 3rd party companies when it comes to paint apps. Even CHMS spares no expense.

Note "prototype images" The thing cant even stand on its own right now. They probably just whipped up some quick prtots for some somewhat combined pictures.

I want this set badly :p TFC is starting to impress more and more lately...

I still think the head needs to be bigger. The proportions just don't seem right at the moment.

I'm happy to see that this is inspired by G1 and not based on the orginal Dinobots. It seems that TFC is letting us see a more creative side then most other 3rd party companies.

BTW, I think the combined mode looks horrible.

there's just something that doesn't ring true.... its like looking at the mona lisa - something isn't quite right, you know it, but you can't put your finger on it

ImageImageLet's see..... Ok, few things to find out about if before I'll say I'd be interested in getting; what size are the individual robots? How much would they cost? And are these things from a different cartoon as well like the would be "Protectobots" or are they specially made homages to the real Dinos?

It is suspected to be Deluxe/Voyager sized, maybe around the size of one of the Hercules figs.
How much would they cost?

Unknown, though unlike the Hercules figure, these ones will be mass produced for the Chinese market, so if other suppliers were to get their hands on them, then will hopefully be cheaper than a Herculese figure.
And are these things from a different cartoon as well like the would be "Protectobots" or are they specially made homages to the real Dinos?

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe they are part of the same series as the StarCats "Protectobots" figures, though I've yet to see footage to confirm this. So no, they are not meant to homage the Dinobots, at least not intentionally.

I was under the impression that TFC Toys stated at TFcon that these were meant for the Transformers universe.

New images of ACtoys of the artwork for not-Grimlock, not-Slag and not-Sludge! (hey, if Hasbro refuses to use the name Slag any more, can TFClub use it?)

Those colors look promising. If the colors are G1, these just may be my Dinobots. I'll just pretend they don't combine. The colors and the faces were always my primary argument against this set. If they can get that right, then great.

Maybe we have something worthwhile after all. It's not like you have to combine them. But if they make Grimlock the Torso instead of Sludge, scale will be compromised and it will look stupid.

Swoop, sludge, and snarl don't look half bad to me, but I don't like Grimlock and Slag's dinosaur feet in robot mode, that is kind of a deal breaker for me....it looks cool in those drawings, but not the actual toy.

I might be interested, but I would need to see the finals first in G1 colors.

Still holding out hope for official FOC Dino's. The artwork is killer for them how can Hasbro go wrong? Even if we got just 2 others besides Grimlock would be happy.

FoC doesn't even have all the Dinobots, though. And just look at the sizes we've got. With the bulk on the Dinos they'd probably be as small as FoC Prime. Which is NOT my idea of awsome Dinobots.

Yes you are probably right, if FOC dinos were that small it would not be that cool. I don't have the game they don't have all 5? We have seen artwork for all 5 though?

I guess I have in my mind that if they did them they would be normal deluxe size and I would gladly take that. However, other than masterpeice Dinos I don't see Hasbro ever creating Classics Dino's that are as big or slightly bigger than Classics Prime to be in proper scale.

I'm not sure about these TFC dino's though, Like I said, I only really like 2 or 3 of 5. I have to believe some other 3rd party will do these eventually, and better; Hopefully I-gear although I don't feel like waiting 5 years for that....

You'd think the Dinos would be top priority for anybody, but that doesn't seem to be the case. A few projects were announced but so many projects are announced and who can say whether they'll ever be done?

*does a quick check on foC* oop, you're right they are all there. I'm just totally off on that point.

Well, the more I see them the more interested I am. You can't expect a 3rd party to rip off the g1 look completely and it is not a bad update for the most part. I would completely ignore the combined mode though.

I'm just wanting to know why there is little to no info on these guys especially after first seeing pics over a year ago?

Were the non-g1 colored versions already released in Asia?

It doesn't seem like there has been any official announcements from TFC on them either?

I would not pay Herc prices for a G1 colored version of these though, maybe not even half of Herc's price...only final painted pics might change my mind....
