Your collection its wonderful!! so can you give me your opinion about my project?
Optimus Prime hand-made and own design, made with pieces of plastic, screws, parts of other toys, appliances, etc.. The head was accomplished using another head of a toy of Optimus.
100% transformable, there is no need to take off any prt, nothing dissapears. (Sorry my enlish is not so good, thank you very much)

Hey man, nice collection. You must have a wonderful camera because those are very GOOD pictures. Do you mind me asking what kind of lens/hardware you used? Ohyea, you might want to consider getting a FP Warbot Defender (Spinger). He looks awesome with Kup and Perceptor and the other animated G1 movie characters.

Thanks for the kind words and sorry for the late reply, haven't been around for a while !

I'm using a stock (35-210 mm) Canon Powershot G9 in macro mode for my pics, does wonders with a white background and natural light.

I've added many new figures to my collection, both Classic and Movie-verse.

But I still have a very long to-get list :P

I'm loving your United fig's! I cheaped out with only Rumble/Frenzy and Scourge. I can't seem to find a macro setting on my point and shoot. It's a fairly nice camera, 14.1 megapixel nikon. It just sucks up close!

The macro mode is usually represented by a flower :

My Canon is only 12 megapixels, but i've learned that good lighting is almost as important as the camera itself. I take my pictures right next to a window, against a white wall and on a white piece of cardboard.

Regarding the United line, I only have Jazz and Megatron because they looked so much better than the regular releases.
Most of the time I prefer the U.S. figures because I'm not a big fan of metallized paint apps (I don't mind if the plastic is actually cast with a bit of glitter in it but Takara tends to overdo it).

At the moment I'm on the fence about getting the HA wreckers... They don't look bad on their own but it seems that they aren't as good as say Barricade or Jazz from the previous line.
The Ark playset I'm definitely going to get, and I'm really looking forward to the Movie Masterpieces of Sentinel Prime and Ironhide. If Takara comes up with something as good as Starscream and Buster Prime, those guys are gonna kick some serious a$$ !

Classics-wise, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the G1 SDCC re-issues of Soundwave and Blaster. Gotta love the boxy look !

I've also checked out your collection topic, you've got a ton of stuff! Amazing. That reminds me I need to get the Starscream Masterpiece as well. If only I had more $$$ to buy 'em all!

I will try your photo tips, actually, right now. I'm trying to shoot my latest custom but the pics never due my work justice. Not trying to say I'm the best or anything, but it's true, the pics blur out up close and detail is fuzzy or lost completely.

The Megs is hands down better than Nerf Hasbro Megatron!

As far as the SDCC Blaster and Sounwave, they are nice, I picked up both ip, but if you're looking for gold 'ol G1 aesthetics, you should check out the recent 3rd party prototypes for these guys! I believe they are going to be awesome!

My collection is getting there...but man there are alot of G1's! I recently picked up Brainstorm, Outback and Swerve. Ultimately I want a complete set of Hasbro G1's but ALL this new stuff just continues to eat up my funds!! I have managed to complete 1984 and 1985 and getting very close to '86.

Looking forward to seeing your pics ;)

I indeed have seen the new 3rd party Soundwave but I have a soft spot for the G1 style figure and to me it's the definitive version even if it's 25 years old.

Since I was born in '88 I didn't grow up watching the show (unfortunately), and I only started to watch G1 last year on DVD. Hard to quit once you started! They don't make 'em like this anymore.
