Oh yeah. I haven't seen anyone bring it up in a while, but that could just be my own willful ignorance. After a while you learn when to divert your attention.

I can only try not to imagine an avid fangirls reaction to Knockout and Breakdown. I know Blitzwing and Lugnut was a thing too, come to think of it, Its the kind of **** you find on a random TF related google image search. Ive since stopped because seibertron, suppressed memories.

This pertains to more than just Transformers, but those of us who bash things before we give 'em a chance.

Take Transformers Animated for example. A lot of people won't go near it just because of the animation style.

I know that the psychotic love/hate relationship is more common (I seem to be the victim of those), but people sometimes want to kill someone for reason that has nothing to do with love.
Can someone want to kill someone for nonsexual reasons?!?

I've been saying this since I joined the fandom, and I come under fire from the shippers because of it.

But you can't stop it, there will always be someone who will make anything sexual. And don't get me started on the Team Fortress 2 female fan base...

Had you said "every story" I'd agree that they aren't always important or even necessary. But since you wrote "a story", it really just depends on the story. Some stories do have them important and for good reason.

The Masterforce cartoon, for instance, demanded the presence of humans since, for the most part, they were the Autobots and Decepticons of that (superb, awesome, and epic) series.

The human factor also as a plot device gives pause to the hulking behemoths to stop and smell the flowers......you know, not wantonly destroy everything in their path and realize that there are other non mechanical lives that also matter.

Btw, I'll go back to Masterforce. It's a nice nod that the shows creators used the "Ancient Astronaut" theory on how wide the influence the Cybertons (Aliens) had in molding Earth's civilization. Waaaaaaaay before BW with the Protohumans.

Aside from the (what the?) part on Devil Z and how the Jr HM trantectors got involved with the manipulation of Devil Z (turning into sentient beings when only the Godmasters should have been the ones to have gained sentience etc).

OST a bit sappy but it grows on you. So what's wrong that it irks me? Watch the series first before saying it sucks. A lot of the fandom are not enlightened that they close their minds to anything done on the opposite part of the Pacific,

I'd say that people automatically assume I'm talking about the movies whenever I say I'm a Transformers fan. When they ask me which one is my favorite, I usually segue by saying the first one, from 1986.
