This popped up on my recommended videos list a little while ago, but since you already made a thread and beat me to it...
I wasnt sure if it was judge dredd related, but When I saw the helmet. I yelled **** yes so loud it literally woke the neighbors.

Colour me worried. From that trailer it looks like they've made the same mistake as the 90s version and forgotten that above all else Judge Dredd is a dark COMEDY. The visuals look good, and I'll go see this regardless, but if this is just another soulless action movie rather than something written with British comic sensibilities in mind I'll be less than impressed.

The only thing I can see so far that Stallone did better was that frown. It seemed to come more natural to him than Karl Urban, but that's not really acting, it's just how Stallone's face is. And hopefully there won't be any British comedy. I'd like to enjoy the movie.

Unfair comparison. No one thought Stallone's was good, but it's a guilty pleasure and still fun to watch. :mrgreen:

I like what I'm seeing, although I hope the 'trapped in a tall building' theme isn't the entire movie. If this movie really wanted to make me happy, the illicit substance would be Umptee's candy (anyone who read the comics or collections will get that)

I saw Dredd this weekend it was fantastic! Don't worry waaaaghlord, there was no dark comedy. Great movie, I hope to go again.

(also, helmet was on the whole time)

I didn't get to go this weekend, but I'm going sometime this week. It looks better than anything else out there, and I was surprised to see it tanked.
