DBZ: The Abridged Series. Honestly, the only Abridged series ever to hold my attention was Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series, which also happens to be the original. I very, very much didn't want to, since, like many people, I can't stand the concept of Yu-Gi-Oh, but relented at the insistence of a douchebag friend of mine who happened to be right.

Hmmmm I don't care for yu-gi-oh either but I do like parodies. Apparently teamfourstar is also involved with a hellsing parody. I'm very looking forward to watching it and trying to find the yu-gi-oh parody you mentioned.

Right here, the original and still the best. Later episodes also feature TEam Four Star as the villains, so there's that.

Shadowman, you'll have a thing for Blair for months after this, you know...

Wigglez, Samurai 7 isnt like alot of anime, it's unpredictable, fun, and the best part is that the Samurai are mortal. They get wounded, hurt. My favorite character in that series died, but damn if ye didn't die like a hero! In the manly tears record right behind Zabuza and Solid Snake.

So, Im watching the Wolverine anime.

I just finished the first episode and I liked it. My only real problem is where does this take place in the -If any- timeline?

I need to know before continuing, is this an origin story in another country? Or do I need some prior knowledge before continuing to watch?

Also, both this anime and the upcoming Wolverine movie take source material from the same place, just a fun fact.

Actually it's very predictable, seeing as it's based off of an Akira Kurosawa movie. If I remember right, all the deaths are pretty much the same between both. (The names certainly are)

The Iron Man anime was supposed to be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe...except it's not technically part of the MCU. That is, you're probably not going to see them bringing it up in the Avengers. In particular, it's very contradictory to a lot of the themes in the second Iron Man movie. (Tony's protectiveness of his designs, and that he's the only one with working power armor)

And it can't be an origin story for Wolverine if he's got adamantium on him.

If you saw that movie, yeah. Thats like watching a film based off of your favorite book.

But as an Anime, I can't say it has alot of predictable moments, or powerups like Wigglez was saying. The only thing that I remember thats even close to that was when whatshisface learned how to kill, or when, in one or two cases, a Samurai would deflect a bullet, which as previously stated, bullets are a Samurai's one weakness. Other than that though, you wont get tired of it. Its not as cut and dry as you think. Watch it and maybe you'll see what I mean.

This isn't amine, but it should be I think because it still has Asian writing in it. I think that might have been a little racist... But I'm watching Avatar: The Last Airbender again. I'm about to finish it but I watched an episode where it was the "Lovers Tunnel" or something and pretty much told the origin story of earth bending. I want to get deeper and watch about the origin of fire bending, water bending and air bending. And to top it off, I want to learn the origin of the original Avatar and learn how he/she could do all 4 bendings. And then the avatar after that or however and see how they learned about their connection to the spirit world and the Avatar state. I love the series but I want to know more.

100% American made. Not Anime in the slightest.

Wigglez wrote:I want to get deeper and watch about the origin of fire bending, water bending and air bending.

Firebending was learned from Dragons, Waterbending was learned by studying waves and tides, and Airbending was learned from the Flying Bison.

I dont see why another season is needed, it feels unnecessary. Korra rapped up good enough,

I heard on some panel that its mainly do to fan reaction, and money of course, but mainly the fandom. Wich is in itself, awesome.

Got to the point in Wolverine were Omega Red shows up, and I just feel like im missing something here. I wish the anime would have started when he was a kid, and explained things a little better. God knows what's happened in this show's version of the universe.

They explain Omega Red and his soviet background but I thought Omega Red, deadpool and a couple others were all on a team at one point?

Characters like Sabertooth and the X-Men are yet to make any sort of appearance or cameo, not even mentioned. There's a special feature on Disc 2 called "Wolverine meets the X-Men" though, so heres hoping that the X-Men anime continues off of this and becomes its own little series.

On the topic of Marvel Anime, Ide love an over the top, dark, gory, action packed Ghost Rider.

It's not that they needed to, it's because they wanted to and because they could. And they knew the fans would be far, far more than happy to watch. That's actually why Korra happened at all, it wasn't necessary either, but the only way you can say you didn't want it to happen is to lie.

Why a new series instead of another season? You never even explained how the second season of The Legend of Korra was unnecessary, by the way.

Because Korra answered all of it's questions. The season finale was supposed to be a series finale, hense the reason it ended like it did.

No bad guy got away, and everything was accounted for.

And the fact that your only reading into part of my comments is equally confusing.

I'm not saying I DONT want more Korra. I'm just saying more Korra doesn't make much sense. Two different things.

I'm all for another season, I just dont see were it could go. Besides getting into ancient history and spiritworld stuff, which is always fun, there isnt much for Korra to learn. Maybe she can refine each skill individually? Travel the world, learn from the masters?

Or the series could introduce a new type of forbidden bending, who knows?

A radical fire nation group rises up to repeat ancient history and reclaim it's people's spot as rulers of the world?

A million and one possibilities. I'm not against it. I just dont see anything being a threat to Korra if she already knows everything.

Why does it have to make sense?

The first season established Korra has a very weak connection to the Spirit World, which is supposed to be part of the second season.

I'm guessing something out of the Spirit World. There's tons of stuff in there that's far more dangerous than any Fire Lord or Blood Bender.

To be honest, I would've been happy if they just had only the first series and never touched it again unless they decided to make it come out on Blu-ray. But I think the new one is a pretty good addition. But my favorite character of every single character out of both shows is Iroh. I would definitely drink some tea with him.

Toph was a good character especially when she figured out how to metal bend. But even being from the fowl Fire Nation, Iroh became peaceful even if it was due to his son dying. Without being the Avatar, he still managed to somehow visit the spirit world and relearned fire bending from the dragons who also taught Zuko and Aang. Not to mention, he was a high ranked member of the Order of The White Lotus.

And I agree that they needed people to forget the live action movie ever happened. But I have another solution, getting rid of all traces of it or going back in time and shooting Shyamalon after he made Signs.
