Yes, but the rule is, just ignore the thing and let the mods sweep it under the rug.

Naruto is coming to Toonami, again, but this time it's uncut. So I'm actually looking forward to it. Unlike, say, the dub of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, which cannot possibly work seeing as most of the jokes require knowledge of the Japanese language and writing.

Damn that reminds me, I gotta catch up on Shippuden. I missed the last 4 episodes.

The only thing I can think of Naruto being uncut on Toonami is that they show the blood. I read the manga all the way up to where he defeated Pain after Pain attacked Konaha. I know the show in America is past that now but whatever. I'll start watching this just to see the fillers because I still don't know what's up with those. You think they're going to play the movies and Shippuden too?

The plot for the new DBZ movie has come out. http://firestarterstoys.blogspot.sg/201 ... opsis.html What do you think of it?

It's going to take me FOREVER to catch up now. I was on the episode 189

"A Limitless Supply of Ninja Tools" when my mom passed and so on. Now ive got no way to watch them. this computer cant handle it, and I don't know were to get the dvds, let alone the ones that are in the area were I left off. Were can I get the Season 5, maybe in a box set? Like Funimation's Dragonboxes?

No offense but, it's not a spoiler when it's been out for a few years now. You're on the internet. If you haven't found this out by now, that's your own problem. Good thing you don't play the Naruto games or everything would've been ruined for you. Just be glad I didn't tell you what happened with Naruto and Kyuubi.

Hold up, hold up. Your computer can't handle pre-rendered traditional animation? I mean, maybe if it's HD in a really high resolution. But I can't imagine a computer that can't handle a bunch of 20-minute .avi videos.

Yeah, after a a year or so, spoiler tags are little more than a courtesy, and you can't just spoiler tag everything just cause someone hasn't seen it yet. I mean, I'm not going to spoiler tag Darth Vader being Luke's dad just cause you haven't seen Empire Strikes Back.

Wait, what? Your joking, right?

Also, here's the new poster thats everywere all of the sudden. Here's
the new baddy they'll be facing off against in the new movie.

Pyrple bunny god. May be a bunny, but its still a god, from what I hear, a greek god.

Goku will go toe to toe with a god. First time that's happened, right?

Nope, dead serious. It's a movie that's been out for over thirty years. At this point, spoilers are common knowledge.

You're not just finding this out when I posted this like 11 days ago are you? And IMO, he looks like an Egyptian god to me. Also the trailer is out but it's in Japanese. I'll post it when they make an American version.

No, we've known, I don't remember you postng any pictures of any bunny-gods though. BTW, yeah he's the egyptian god of death, Anubis. At least I thinks so. So he's a...dog?
Anyway, another trailer:

Patiently (sort of) waiting for Evangelion 3.33: You Can (Not) Redo.

Come on 11th January.

(Watched the other two in the meantime, forgot how much they cleaned up the graphics.)

I remember watching 2.0, and I had to pause and go look something up because I thought I had somehow found the English dub several months early. Turns out nope, it was Japanese, they just managed to find a bunch of English speakers. Including Mari's voice actress, you don't normally see English that good in anime.

But from the brief summary Wikipedia has, while 2.0 went a tad off the rails near the end, 3.0 is just an entirely new story. I haven't seen it yet (Not on DVD yet, and I don't do theater recordings) but I'm hoping they throw in a few more hints that this isn't a remake at all.

Well, 3.33 is sort of a remake, in a way. At least, that was my understanding.
I read a review, spoiler-free, which made it look as though it's quite ..weird.

Found it. Not spoiler-free, just read up to the spoiler section:

http://kotaku.com/5961452/evangelion-30-is-not-the-film-you-were-expecting?tag=evangelion

So not much to read, really.

They keep dropping references to the original series. Not in the same way, for instance, Transformers Animated did it, they drop references in a way like the original series actually already happened. The blood stain on the moon, the red ocean, and chalk outline of an MP Eva, Kaworu saying "I'll make you happy this time" etc. etc.

And a few marked spoilers for the movie? Averting Third Impact in the last movie worked in the sense that not everyone died...but most of humanity was killed by it anyway. Kaworu is now the only unambiguously good character in the movie, and dies to stop Shinji from starting Fourth Impact, which, up until then, seemed like a good idea until Kaworu realized he had the wool pulled over his eyes. Gendo is not straight-up evil, Asuka and Mari, now both 28-years-old still look 14 which is cool, and everyone hates Shinji.

Final is going to be crazy as hell.

I never watched the Neon Genesis movies. I didn't even finish the series. What happened was that I used to go to onemanga.com while they still had manga available to read on their site and read NG on there. But they didn't have the ending on there. It sucked so bad. Not the manga, the fact that they didn't even have the ending to it.

That's because the manga hasn't finished yet. They've really been taking their sweet time with it, they've had, what, fifteen years to finish adapting the story? Meanwhile, Gainax made three movies, two of which tell entirely new stories.

What's the deal with Hellsing?
Are the two seperate series? All I can find are the Hellsing Ultimate OVAs. Was wondering if there was a FMA Brotherhood thing going on.

From Wikipedia: "An original video animation (OVA) entitled Hellsing Ultimate is being produced by Geneon. It follows the manga storyline more closely than the anime series."

Yeah, pretty much the same principal as FMA Brotherhood, it seems.

I still need to watch Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo. I loved the first 2 Rebuild movies. 1.0 was a true remake, and a lot of the footage seemed almost identical to the original. 2.0 took the series in some nice new directions, and I was particularly pleased with the update of Sahaquiel, who went from being one of the lamer Angels in the original series to an absolute creepy masterpiece of CG.

I need to rewatch the original series too. And probably End of Evangelion...despite it being the most disturbing film ever made.

Or I might just watch more Shinryaku! Ika Musume (de geso!) or Cardcaptor Sakura.

I just finished watching a couple animes and wanted to share my thoughts on them:

King of Braves GaoGaiGar
Simply loved the series, it really deserved its fame. It took the concept of courage to a new level without making it look cheesy (Burning Justice anyone?). It probably helped that they focused on the team behind the mechs as well and that the A.I.'s actually had character to them. And who couldn't love Mic Sounders the 13th? A couple of highlights:

- Creative use of the Dividing Driver. Seriously, they though outside the box with it in some episodes
- Last ditch efforts, the series had quite a few of them
- The curveball after the main antagonist. Those familiar with the series know what I mean
- And of course: HIKARE NI NARE!

King of Braves GaoGaiGar FINAL
Of course, after watching the main series I had to watch the OVA. And it doesn't disappoint. It's true you are thrown into the deep end at the beginning with characters appearing in other media, but all necessary for the story is well explained. Besides, after 2 episodes one can put that behind them. Highlights:

- Flashbacks of Renée. Gruesome
- Politics. Seriously, you're lead to believe they'd throw a wrench into the series (and they actually can), then they all put up an act to not lose face. Well played.
- The individual Braves versus their Sol Master counterparts. Best fights ever, especially Genesic GaoGaiGar vs. Palparepa.
- GaoGaiGar vs. GaoFighGar deserves a mention too.
- And who could forget the ultimate ban-hammer: Goldion Crusher. Could one make a toy of that thing?

Brave Exkaiser
Yes, I went all the way to the beginning, and watched it RAW, no subtitles. If you're looking for GaoGaiGar quality in storyline and such, stay well back. It's definitely more geared towards kids with the humor and situations. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just different and it's enjoyable if you're open to it. No real noteworthy highlights here, really.

I may start watching Brave Police J-Decker next. :)
